In The CW's Kung Fu reboot, Nicky Shen is finding her footing back at home in San Francisco's Chinatown after the loss she experienced at her Shaolin monastery, but her past isn't done with her yet. Her nemesis Zhilan now threatens her life in the promo for the second episode, "Silence."
The promo shows a flashback of Nicky's time at the monastery where she trained for three years under the tutelage of Shifu Pei-Ling before the attack that destroyed the monastery and killed her Shifu. Zhilan, the lethal warrior who ended Pei-Ling's life, says to Nicky, "Your Shifu should've warned you, never step in the way of destiny." Afterwards, the combat kicks in as Nicky shows off her martial arts skills by taking down some bad guys. She also hugs her sister and laments that she feels like she should be doing more.
The promo ends with Nicky walking toward the camera and saying, "I'm not going anywhere."
