DC's Legends of Tomorrow released a poster for its upcoming Season 6.
The poster features a VHS cover of the Legends on a planetary surface, while the Waverider and an alien ship are on a colliding path. Looming over the Legends is a Cthulhu-esque figure and the poster has the tagline "Space. Oddity." -- referencing both David Bowie's "Space Oddity" song and the show's Season 6's premiere title, "Ground Control to Sara Lance."
Bowie's "Space Oddity" starts with the words "Ground control to Major Tom," and is sung from the perspective of Ground Control's view of Major Tom and vice versa as Tom travels throughout space. Similarly, Season 6 will see Sara Lance stuck in space -- after being abducted by aliens in Season 5 -- and separated from her team, wondering if they'll find her.
The upcoming season will also mark the last one featuring Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) as a series regular. After a staged publicity stunt on social media, Purcell confirmed that he will return to a recurring role in Season 7.
In addition to Lisseth Chavez's new character Esperanza Cruz, the upcoming season will also see the return of Arrow alum David Ramsey in a mystery role. The Season 6 premiere will also reveal the secret origin of Time Bureau agent Gary Green.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez and Raffi Barsoumian. Season 6 premieres Sunday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
