The title character of Netflix's Lucifer lives in a penthouse above his glamorous Los Angeles nightclub, Lux. Though many of the show's scenes are set in either the club or his personal quarters, some levels of the building have never been shown onscreen. However, fans have now been offered an idea of what to imagine happening there -- or what to avoid thinking about.
In an interview with wordballoon, co-showrunner Joe Henderson addressed fans' curiosity about the unseen parts of Lux. "...'What's on the different floors of Lux?' is a question," he said. "Yeah. It is something that we have almost told multiple episodes about and just never really got into. So: sex dungeons. It's all sex dungeons."
While Henderson's answer was probably meant in jest, it does fall in line with the hedonistic lifestyle that the character lives, with the early seasons of the show making a point of his promiscuity by showing him with different sexual partners every day.
Henderson also accounted for another aspect of Lucifer's off-screen life by filling one of the unseen floors with a different kind of amenity: "And Lucifer's kitchen," he said. Luxurious as the club and penthouse are, neither has a place to prepare food as far as the show has revealed.
Fans may never get to see Lucifer's alleged sex dungeons, but upcoming episodes promise further details of his life, history and future, and the sets for Lux and the penthouse are sure to remain a staple of the show.
Lucifer Season 5 has been split into two parts, with the first eight episodes released as Season 5A in August 2020, and the remaining eight episodes composing Season 5B scheduled to hit Netflix on Friday, May 28. It will be followed by a sixth and final season, which will run for a total of 10 episodes and does not yet have a premiere date. Lucifer Season 6 wrapped production on Monday, March 29, causing the hashtag #ThankYouLucifer to trend on Twitter.
