Michael B. Jordan Plays Coy About Superman Casting Rumor | CBR

Action star and director Michael B. Jordan continues to play coy about whether or not he'll play Superman in an upcoming film within the DC Extended Universe.

While being interviewed for his upcoming film Without Remorse, Jordan discussed the rumors that he may pick up the Man of Steel's cape soon. "I mean I don't know," he told CinePOP. "I don't really know what is going with that in particular, but I think that everybody's wants and desire to see Black leads in heroic roles are really really important."

Previously, Jordan was rumored to be portraying a new version of Superman ever since he met with Warner Bros. to pitch his idea in 2019. Warner Bros. announced in February that it's developing a Superman reboot produced by J.J. Abrams and written by Ta-Nehisi Coates, with speculation that the project will focus on a Black Son of Krypton.

If cast, this wouldn't be the first time Jordan took on a comic book-based role. He previously portrayed Johnny Storm/Human Torch in 2015's Fantastic Four film and Erik Stevens/Killmonger in Black Panther. He will also produce the live-action Static Shock film under his Outlier Society production company.
