The Charmed Ones are forced to deal with their mother's mysterious past in the new promo for an upcoming episode of The CW's Charmed.
Charmed's upcoming ninth episode, "No Hablo Brujeria," released a promo clip on The CW's YouTube, showing the sisters coming face-to-face with a hooded intruder in their home. "Put your hands where we can see them," Maggie tells the uninvited guest.
Maggie questions the invader, "Who are you? And what are you doing in our attic?"
In reply, the stranger quickly removes her hood and reveals, "I'm your cousin." The not-so-distant relative then explains, "Your mother abandoned the family and stole The Book of Shadows. I'm here to get it back."
The new cousin, named Joséfina, will be portrayed by transgender actor Mareya Salazar. Her character is described as a fellow witch who is "strong, opinionated young woman who shows up on [The Charmed One's] doorstep with surprises and secrets."
Salazar will be the second trans actor to join the cast of Charmed, following JJ Hawkins, who portrays Kevin on the series. Salazar is best known for starring in 2019's comedic-drama film Verliefd op Cuba (Cuban Love).
The official synopsis for Season 3, Episode 9, "No Hablo Brujeria," reads,
