On the eve of WrestleMania 37, WWE confirmed that two of its biggest stars will return to the active roster sooner than later. Two former Raw Women's Champions, Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, will both be making a comeback. At this point, there are no firm dates, storylines or opponents in place.
"Ronda is going to be coming back at a certain point in time. Becky Lynch, she just had her first baby, she will be coming back at a certain point in time in the not too distant future," WWE President Nick Khan said in an interview on The Colin Cowherd Podcast.
Ronda Rousey had a short but productive tenure in the squared circle. Her last appearance was at WrestleMania 35, when she faced Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in the Triple Threat main event. Lynch made history that night by becoming the Raw Women's Champion and the SmackDown Women's Champion.
Becky Lynch made her most recent appearance with WWE in May 2020 on an episode of Raw after the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. Asuka thought she won a contract to face Lynch whenever she wanted. Lynch shocked the wrestling world when she announced that she was pregnant and Asuka had actually won the Raw Women's Championship. Becky has not appeared on WWE programming since then, and gave birth to her child in December 2020.
With WrestleMania 37 happening this weekend, statements like this will inevitably fuel speculation of one or both wrestlers returning immediately. WWE is infamous for scheduling major returns and debuts on the first episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT after its biggest event of the year. As of now, there is no indication that Beck Lynch or Ronda Rousey will pop up that soon.
WrestleMania will take place Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay and stream live exclusively on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.
