Eva Longoria's Flamin' Hot Cheetos Film Casts Leads | CBR

Eva Longoria's Flamin' Hot Cheetos film has found its two lead actors.

According to Deadline, Jesse Garcia (Narcos: Mexico) and Annie Gonzalez (Gentefied) will star as Richard and Judy Montañez in Flamin' Hot. The movie, which comes from Searchlight Pictures and Franklin Entertainment, will be Longoria's directorial debut. It will tell the true-life story of Richard, a Frito Lay janitor who, inspired by his Mexican-American heritage, pitched a new flavor to former PepsiCo CEO Roger Enrico over the phone. After being given two weeks to prepare, he presented to the company's executive team, leading to the creation of Flamin' Hot Cheetos.

"It has been my biggest priority to make sure we are telling Richard Montañez's story authentically," said Longoria in a statement. "I am so happy to have two extremely talented and fellow Mexican-Americans on board in these pivotal roles. Jesse and Annie have a deep understanding of our community and will be able to help tell this story of great importance for our culture."

The film also signed Linda Yvette Chavez to do revisions on Lewis Colick's screenplay.

Directed by Eva Longoria, Flamin' Hot stars Jesse Garcia and Annie Gonzalez. The film does not yet have a release date.
