First appearing in his self-titled series under Image Comics, Mark Grayson— better known as his superhero alias Invincible— is a member of the Viltrumite race, a powerful warrior race known and feared as planetary conquerors. The son of Viltrumite Omni-Man and human Debbie Grayson, Invincible took over the mantle of Earth's guardian after his father revealed his true colors and fled the planet.
Invincible's Viltrumite heritage also gives him unique physiology; since Viltrumite DNA is so dominant, Invincible is nearly 100% alien. As a result, he inherited his race's superhuman abilities, including super-strength and enhanced durability, as well as flight and interstellar travel capabilities. He's certainly a tough opponent to go up against, but how would he fare against some of DC's villain roster?
10 Could Beat: Harley Quinn
Once therapist and psychiatrist to The Joker, Harley Quinn went from serving a life of crime alongside him to actively fighting against his insane plots— becoming more of an anti-hero and even occasional ally to Batman. A naturally skilled gymnast and acrobat, Harley also received enhanced speed, strength, reflexes, durability, and immunity to most poisons and toxins thanks to a serum developed by Poison Ivy.
On a surface level, it seems like Invincible would easily overcome the former Clown Princess of crime. Still, Harley's unpredictability and knack for quick thinking have allowed her to outdo even Superman, so she would have a bit of an edge— for a time. Invincible's still got her beat in terms of raw power, however, so he'd eventually still come out on top.
9 Would Lose To: Poison Ivy
One of the most iconic members of Batman's rogue gallery, Poison Ivy is a genetically enhanced protector of "The Green," the elemental force that connects all life on Earth. Able to manipulate and utilize plant life, she's most famously capable of mind-controlling others through her pheromones, once subjugating the entire world to her will.
Restraining Invincible could be a rather difficult feat, but thanks to her ability to manipulate her plants' molecular structure, she would likely be able to hold him long enough to mind control him.
8 Could Beat: Sinestro
Formerly a member of the Green Lantern Corps and Hal Jordan's mentor, Thaal Sinestro was stripped of his power ring and rank when he abused his ring's abilities to instill fear. Going on to form and lead the Sinestro Corps, Sinestro powers his Yellow Ring through fear instead of the Green Lantern's willpower.
Sinestro's ring allows him to creature and project hard-light constructs, with the only limitation on his abilities being his own imagination. In a fight against Invincible, he'd likely create as many deadly creations as he could to try to get the upper hand. However, Invincible's sheer strength would be enough to break through Sinsestro's constructs and win him the fight.
7 Would Lose To: Parasite
Famously an adversary of Superman, Parasite is a powerful metahuman capable of absorbing the powers, memories, and knowledge of anyone he touches. The process also leaves his victims heavily sapped of energy, making it all the easier for him to turn their own abilities back on them.
Parasite is also an extremely talented stealth artist, having gotten the drop on even Superman. In the event that he's able to avoid Parasite's grasp, Invincible would be able to clean up a fight between the two in no time. Unfortunately, however, it'd be highly unlikely.
6 Could Beat: Reverse-Flash
Though several versions of Reverse-Flash are present throughout DC's canon, the most prominent one is Eobard Thawne, also known as Professor Zoom. Thawne hails from the 25th century, where he encountered a time capsule that held Barry Allen's Flash costume. Thawne amplified the suit's abilities, which in turn granted him the powers of a speedster.
Though he possesses all the abilities of a standard speedster, Thawne can travel through space and time, making him a tough opponent to fight, let alone find. Thawne can hit his opponents with hundreds of blows in seconds, making it hard to recover. However, Invincible would be able to catch Thawne with just one slip-up or pause, and his durability would ensure his victory.
5 Would Lose To: Psimon
Gifted with powers by the interdimensional demon Trigon, Psimon has been a recurring enemy of the Teen Titans since his debut in 1981. Though initially a servant of Trigon, Psimon eventually grew into a leadership role of his own, usurping control of the supervillain team, the Fearsome Five. Along with his physic abilities, he can generate concussive blasts, manipulate memories, and mind control others.
Invincible could beat Psimon in a straight-up fight, no doubt, but the cunning physic wouldn't allow that to happen. Able to astrally project himself, Psimon would be free to use his powers from a safe distance and overwhelm Invincible with his blasts and mind control abilities.
4 Could Beat: Solomon Grundy
A largely simple-minded and towering individual, Solomon Grundy is a magically enhanced giant with enough strength to hit back against the likes of Superman. Because of his revenant-like status, most blows against him hardly leave any permanent damage, knowing knocking him out or leaving him winded. Combined with his knack for resurrection, Grundy is nearly unstoppable.
Fighting against Grundy is really just a waiting game. Letting him wear himself out or beating him down till he can't fight anymore are really the only options. Luckily for Invincible, it's really just a walk in the park (at least compared to some of his other opponents).
3 Would Lose To: Doomsday
One of Superman and The Justice League's most common enemies, Doomsday is an ancient being from prehistoric Krypton. Ever evolving, Doomsday's genetic engineering allows him to recover from nearly everything that's thrown at him, adapting countermeasures and defenses to whatever it is he's fighting.
Invincible shares many similarities with Superman, who has gone head to head with Doomsday the most in comic book canon. As a result, it's easy to see that Invincible would be evenly matched against Doomsday for quite some time. However, thanks to Doomsday's regenerative and adapting capabilities, he'd be able to eventually get the upper hand.
2 Could Beat: Cheetah
Often seen as the archenemy of Wonder Woman, Cheetah is a cheetah-human hybrid (in some versions) who gained her powers and appearance after being captured by the god Urzkartaga. Though there are several incarnations and versions of Cheetah, Barbara Ann Minvera is the most well-known and powerful version of the feline-empowered feline.
Despite looking like merely an overgrown cat, Cheetah possesses strength, speed, and durability that lets her go toe to toe with Wonder Woman and has even been able to outmaneuver The Flash on occasion. Invincible would be hard-pressed to keep up with her but could withstand enough of her blows to start putting her on the defensive and win.
1 Would Lose To: Blackfire
Hailing from planet Tamaran, Blackfire is Starfire's estranged sister. Every bit as powerful as her sister, Blackfire has often boasted about being the better fighter due to her older age and experience and has the track record to back her statements up. Possessing all the standard powers of superheroes, Blackfire can also absorb and manipulate ultraviolet energy, releasing them in the form of "blackbolts."
Blackfire's fighting style is quite similar to Omni-Man's— brutal and unforgiving— something Invincible struggled against. On top of that, Blackfire would be blasting Invincible in-between hits, resulting in a never-ending barrage that would leave the Vilturmtie Hybrid worse for wear.
