Loki is known for a lot of different things. Naturally, he's the God of Mischief, and has certainly lived up to that name over the millennia. He's also well known for being the brother of Thor, something that absolutely drives Loki nuts. And he's also a bit of a fashion icon, rocking several different costumes during his long run in the comic books. With the first season of the new series Loki looming, it will be interesting how many of these style choices make an appearance.
Considering that the story of this series is rooted in time travel, there are a lot of possibilities for potential eras in Loki's life he could end up visiting. This means that any comic book version of Loki and his costumes could be possible.
10 Loki, Sorcerer Supreme
When the Vishanti hold a tournament, they take things pretty gosh darn seriously. And Doctor Strange losing said tournament resulted in him losing the vast majority of his powers, leaving him to work as a veterinarian.
The winner of that tournament and the new Sorcerer Supreme was Loki. Naturally, he ended up with super cool new cape alongside his new title and powers. This one could easily pop up in the MCU as Doctor Strange is around and could lose his job at any time.
9 Stylish & Chic In Loki: Agent of Asgard
Loki's life has taken some real twists and turns over the years. At one point he was a much younger version of himself, trying to figure out his place in the world. Not that he really cared, and pretty much did whatever he wanted.
But the All-Mothers gave him the opportunity to do good deeds to curry favor in Asgard. He accepted and a semi-good Loki was born. It was an interesting and more modern look for him, one that fit his younger form.
8 Classic, Old School Loki
Loki has been vexing the Avengers since day one, both in the comics and in the MCU. His legacy has been one of tormenting them endlessly, mostly for his own amusement. It's surprising how many of his plans have no real outcome other than having a laugh.
Out of all of his costumes, his vintage look is one of his most striking. The MCU has used adaptations of it a few times in the past but they've never really gone all in on it. Keeping in mind that Loki hinges on time travel, this might be the opportunity to break out the old school vibe on a trip to the past.
7 His King Thor Style
Deep into one potential future of Marvel Comics, fans got to know King Thor. Now the leader of Asgard, Thor was incredibly powerful and had two grand-daughters. Also alive in that time were Wolverine who had the Phoenix Force and Doctor Doom who had pretty much every other power available.
Not surprisingly, Loki was also still around, sporting what may have been his most menacing look of all time. Carrying All-Black the Necrosword certainly helped make him look a lot more badass. If Loki ends up in the future, who knows what version of himself he might find there.
6 Lady Loki May Make An Appearance
When Loki makes a change in his look, he goes all in. While Thor was busily trying to rebuild Asgard after the events of Ragnarok, he was able to return most of his friends, family and allies to their true forms. When Loki came back, things took a different path.
His mind and spirit inhabited the form of Lady Sif, creating a female version of Loki. This form also featured one of the most unique costumes Loki had ever worn. The early trailers for the Disney+ series seem like they contain clues of Lady Loki making an appearance in it. Only time will tell.
5 Warrior Loki From Vengeance
Nothing ever turns out well for villains getting involved in people's personal problems. That was certainly true in the Vengeance storyline, which included a range of villains getting caught up in a lot of odd situations.
Not one to be left out, Loki was also involved in the action and he certainly dressed for the occasion. His gear was by far the most warrior-like he's ever worn, looking more like a Viking of old than he ever has in any previous incarnation.
4 Loki Mixes In Some Thor In Axis
The events of Axis found Red Skull more powerful than ever, and trying to take over the world with the combined powers of Onslaught and Charles Xavier. Everyone in the world got dragged into the fight including Loki: Agent of Asgard. But this version of Loki proved to be even more different from the norm.
Red Skull's manipulations had turned several Avengers evil, including Thor. To fight him, young Loki picked up Thor's former hammer Mjolnir, proving he was worthy and fought his brother. He even did this while wearing a costume similar to Thor's
3 Kid Loki Was An Even Bigger Nuisance
Loki has spent time as a young adult version of himself. He's been Lady Loki. And he's also been a full on child, which is the form Thor found him in when he was reborn. Not surprisingly, he was a much different Loki than fans were used.
The little guy tried to do good, and was reasonably successful at it all things considered. His costume during that time was rather unique, quite reminiscent of a his Walt Simonson-era look with a modern flair.
2 Walt Simonson-Era Loki
There are few versions of Asgard more iconic than what fans got during Walt Simonson's run on the title. His work produced the definitive versions of those characters and stories that continue to be influential on modern comics.
While elements of Loki's Walt Simonson era look have been incorporated into his MCU style, long time comic book fans would be thrilled to see his full on costume from that era make an appearance. It would be a great call back to a key time.
1 The Savage Look Of Viking Loki
As a general rule, Thor is the stronger of the two bothers. Loki has always had to rely on his wits and cunning to overcome the raw power Thor brings to the fight. But there have been times that Loki has been more powerful than his brother, or has at least looked the part.
One story put them in the age of Vikings, and gave Loki his most dramatic change in his look to date. This version of the God of Mischief appeared more likely to bash someone in the head with a club instead of implementing a master plan of any kind.
