Spider-Man: No Way Home Star Shares Beat-up Peter Parker BTS Photo

Jacob Batalon, who plays Peter Parker's best friend Ned in the Spider-Man movies, shared a set of behind-the-scenes photos of a beat-up Tom Holland on the set of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Batalon posted the three behind-the-scenes images on Instagram with the caption, "Ned&Peter." The caption also identified Holland and Batalon's Spider-Man: No Way Home co-star Zendaya as the photographer of the pictures. The latter two photos showcased the pair on the set of the characters' high school, the hallway and the gymnasium, respectively. In both pictures, Holland was wearing the blue hoodie adorned with the name and insignia of Peter Parker's high school Midtown School of Science and Technology.

The first picture of the group featured a dark background, so the location of shooting was unclear. Holland was wearing a striped polo shirt, but most notably, also had a few small cuts and scratches across his face. Much of No Way Home's plot details remain unclear, so it is uncertain if and how Peter Parker will sustain his injuries throughout the film.

Despite the film's secrecy, Batalon was not the first to share a sneak peek behind the scenes of the upcoming film. Upon wrapping production, Holland shared a shirtless photo on his Instagram Story to thank his personal trainer and to show off his superhero physique. "I never post shit like this but it's our last day so fuck it," Holland wrote. Another picture was shared on Twitter a few weeks prior, showcasing a prop bus station advertisement that featured the Statue of Liberty holding Captain America's shield. Supposedly, the ad would be featured in the background of "a key scene" of the film, according to the tweet.

One of Spider-Man: No Way Home's biggest mysteries, however, was the inclusion of former cinematic Spider-Men Tobey Macguire and Andrew Garfield being featured in the upcoming film by way of the multiverse. Garfield initially denied the No Way Home rumors on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, saying, "I feel like I'm in a game of fucking Werewolf or Mafia where I'm like, 'I'm not the werewolf. I promise you I am not the werewolf.’ And everyone's like, 'You're the werewolf. You're the fucking werewolf.'" Although when pressed further for a concrete yes/no answer, Garfield simply responded that "I did not get a call." Later, Garfield clarified his Spider-Man response in an interview with Access Hollywood, saying, "It's not something that I've been asked about or anything like that but, you know, never say never."

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx as Electro. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
