WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for WWE WrestleMania Backlash.
With Disney's Cruella set to premiere in less than two weeks, WWE superstar Charlotte Flair sported ring gear inspired by the eponymous 101 Dalmatians villain for her championship match at WrestleMania Backlash.
At WrestleMania Backlash, Flair made her way to the ring wearing a long coat inspired by the robes often worn by both herself and her retired father, Ric Flair. The coat was white on one side and black on the other, with a touch of red. If that wasn't already reminiscent enough of Cruella de Vil's aesthetic, the multi-time Women's Champion's actual ring gear also featured a Dalmatian-esque print pattern.
Flair competed in a triple threat match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship against Asuka and defending champion Rhea Ripley. Following a 15-minute bout, Ripley ultimately managed to emerge victorious and retain her title.
Starring Amazing Spider-Man alum Emma Stone as Estella "Cruella" de Vil, Cruella is slated for release on May 28. The film gives an origin story to the titular fashion designer, who was the main villain of the 1961 animated Disney film One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Cruella de Vil was previously played in live-action by Glenn Close in the 1996 film 101 Dalmatians and its 2000 sequel 102 Dalmatians. Close also serves as an executive producer on Cruella.
Directed by Craig Gillespie, Cruella stars Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser, Joel Fry, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Mark Strong. The film arrives in theaters and on Disney+ Premiere Access on May 28.
