Dungeons & Dragons, the iconic tabletop role-playing game, has announced Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos, a new crossover adventure with Magic: The Gathering.
The new adventure will allow players to adventure through Strixhaven, a plane of existence that was added relatively recently to the Magic: The Gathering lore. While not a great deal is currently known about the upcoming adventure, Wizards of the Coast did confirm that players can expect to get their hands on the book on Nov. 16. The adventure has been written by Amanda Hamon, notable for her work on the acclaimed Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft.
According to Wizards of the Coast, Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos will largely depict "a magical university with competing schools." Strixhaven was only added to the Magic: The Gathering universe in April 2020, introduced in the Strixhaven: School of Mages set of cards.
In the world of Magic: The Gathering, Strixhaven is the largest and most powerful magic academy in the multiverse, lining up with the brief description provided by the designers of the D&D adventure. Due to its relatively recent addition to the Magic: The Gathering universe, it's likely this Dungeons & Dragons adventure will significantly expand on the lore associated with the magic school.
A preview of Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos will be available on June 8, alongside the launch of new playtest content titled Unearthed Arcana – Mages of Strixhaven. Within the new ruleset, players will be able to gain an understanding of character creation and new subclasses. Players may also supply feedback to Wizards of the Coast regarding the system.
Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that it will showcase more information on Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos on July 16 and 17 during D&D Live.
