Jujutsu Kaisen: 10 Anime Characters Who Would Attend Tokyo Jujutsu High

Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy shonen series that stars Yuji Itadori, a high school student with incredible strength and physical abilities. After ingesting the curse Sukuna's finger, he chooses to attend Tokyo Jujutsu High, a hidden school dedicated to training new jujutsu sorcerers.

This is one of the newest takes on the "magical high school" theme, and only talented and powerful students may enroll here, from Yuji himself to the wily Nobara Kugisaki and the brooding Megumi Fushiguro. If other anime characters had an aptitude for cursed techniques, which ones would secure a spot in Tokyo Jujutsu High? It's time for a first-year class like no other.

10 Naofumi Iwatani Has Tactical Smarts & A Bad Attitude (The Rising Of The Shield Hero)

Cursed energy is fueled with negative emotions such as anger, envy or grief, so moody characters such as Megumi and Nobara can easily boost their cursed techniques. Happy-go-lucky characters aren't a good fit, but Naofumi Iwatani, the shield hero, would be.

The Rising of the Shield Hero's main character is stern, serious, and knows his duty, and he is practical and insightful during battle, even if he has nothing but shields to his name. Naofumi could protect his sorcerer allies with durable shields made of cursed energy, and he'd do a great job.

9 Laxus Dreyar's Aggression & Pride Would Fuel His Cursed Energy (Fairy Tail)

It may be noted that while strong negative emotions fuel cursed energy, a sorcerer should not go totally out of control. They must regulate their emotions to maintain a steady flow, and that is why Yuji underwent his movie-based training with his teacher, Satoru Gojo.

Laxus Dreyar, the lightning dragon slayer in Fairy Tail, has immense pride and a tough-guy attitude, but he's not a mindless berserker. Laxus is deliberate and purposeful with his actions, and he could definitely learn to harness electric cursed energy and use it to vaporize curses of all sizes.

8 Ken Kaneki Learned To Turn Despair Into Fuel (Tokyo Ghoul)

Ken Kaneki never asked to become a ghoul, but when he had Rize Kamishiro's organs transplanted into him, he had no choice. Now, Ken is on the border between the human and ghoul worlds of Tokyo Ghoul, and he is fighting to reconcile them and bring peace.

At first, Ken was overwhelmed with despair, but then he learned to channel his negative emotions into sheer resolve. He uses this willpower to face villainous ghouls and CCG investigators alike. It's easy to imagine him becoming a sorcerer instead, with cursed energy shaped like his kagune.

7 Rukia Kuchiki Has Endured Many Hardships As An Orphaned Soul Reaper (Bleach)

Just like Ken Kaneki, Bleach's Rukia Kuchiki has long since learned to channel her negative experiences into something more constructive. She grew up impoverished on the streets and formed a gang of friends who she looked out for. She didn't let her dire circumstances define her.

Rukia then became a Soul Reaper and suffered the death of her beloved mentor, Kaien Shiba. Once again, Rukia derived strength from this, having Kaien's heart living on inside her. Rukia clearly has control over her negative emotions, and she could use them to become a fine sorcerer.

6 Thorfinn Karlsefni Mastered His Own Negative Emotions After Askeladd's Death (Vinland Saga)

When Thorfinn Karlsefni lost his father, Thors, in Vinland Saga, he flew into a rage and had only vengeance on his mind. Years later, prince Canute killed Askeladd, and Thorfinn ended up as a slave farmhand for years on end. Thorfinn came to grips with himself, realizing that war and revenge were pointless and cruel.

Thorfinn resolved to become a pacifist and create the peaceful nation of Vinland, though he still has scars from his war days. If he attended Jujutsu High, he could finely hone his control over his emotions and become an acrobatic and purposeful sorcerer in combat. Thors would have been proud.

5 Mako Is A Heroic Firebender & Leader (The Legend Of Korra)

Mako, a Firebender from The Legend of Korra, had a roughly similar story arc as Rukia Kuchiki. He grew up as an orphan on Republic City's mean streets with only his brother Bolin for company, and he committed petty crime to earn the favor of local gangs.

However, Mako is not a villain or criminal at heart. He's a responsible and protective brother who yearns for justice, and he was a pro-bending team captain before becoming a police officer. Clearly, he has learned to harness his negative emotions constructively.

4 Tsukasa Shishio Is Bitter But Honorable (Dr. Stone)

Dr. Stone's world's strongest high schooler, Tsukasa Shishio, was terribly bitter about the world, dismayed that so many powerful adults neglect, abuse or exploit the innocent youth with impunity. He was also highly protective of his little sister, Mirai.

But Tsukasa is not a mindless thug. He strives to create a new, "pure" world where only idealistic youths can live in harmony with nature and one another, and he'll destroy anyone who gets in his way. He also has a sense of honor and discipline, meaning Tsukasa has tight control over his negative emotions, perfect for a new jujutsu sorcerer.

3 Ken Ryugui, AKA Draken, Is Aggressive But Can Control Himself (Tokyo Revengers)

Draken is Mikey's best friend and ally in the Manji gang of Tokyo Revengers, and although he looks scarier due to his size and tattoos, he is actually the more disciplined and restrained of the pair. Draken will sometimes let his temper get the best of him, but that could be taken care of at Jujutsu High.

For the most part, Draken is well-known and respected for his authority and power, and he has a sense of honor and restraint. Draken is often angry and tense, but he is also able to see the good in others, and he will repay favors with favors and kindness with kindness. This sort of balance would make him a fine sorcerer.

2 Mikasa Ackerman Has Long Since Harnessed Her Strong Emotions (Attack On Titan)

In Attack on Titan, Mikasa Ackerman, like her relative Levi, is a fierce but disciplined warrior who keeps her emotions in check for the sake of the mission. Mikasa only loses her cool where Eren Yeager is concerned, but that won't be an issue if she transfers to Jujutsu High as a student sorcerer.

In battle, Mikasa is quick, deadly and sharp at all times, and she has long since learned how to emotionally distance herself from the horrors around her to survive. All of this would make her a model sorcerer, especially if she's given swords to use in battle. Even sorcerers need tools, such as Nobara's hammer and nails, so Mikasa's swords would work as part of her cursed technique.

1 Alphonse Elric Has Overcome His Grief To Become A Compassionate Alchemist (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood's Alphonse Elric is another character who has derived kindness and compassion from intense negative emotions. In this case, he and his brother Edward lost their beloved mother, and they tried and failed to revive her with forbidden alchemy. Alphonse lost his entire body, but regained it on the Promised Day.

Unlike the hotheaded Ed, Alphonse is cool and composed, though he is also brave and will become indignant in the face of injustice or cruelty. Al has good control over his many negative emotions, and is a creative and insightful alchemist with a scientist's keen mind to back him up. He'd be a model sorcerer.
