WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Loki Episode 1, "Glorious Purpose," streaming now on Disney+.
New Loki images tease the God of Mischief's first day as a reluctant consultant for the Time Variance Authority.
The first photo, posted to Twitter, shows Loki behind a desk and wearing his new TVA uniform as he opens a file of information that presumably ties into Agent Mobius' investigation about the Minutemen killer. The other features Loki working in the field alongside his initial captor Hunter-B15, with the pair investigating the inside of a Roxxcart store. It also implies a conflict of sorts, with B-15 aiming her weapon at an off-screen target.
Loki's first episode followed a "Variant" version of Loki who escaped his initial timeline in Avengers: Endgame thanks to the Tesseract, thus putting him under the TVA's radar. After being captured and put on trial, however, Loki's sentencing was halted by Mobius, who attempted to talk with Loki in order to understand his desire for conquest and power beyond traditional villainy. Eventually, after seeing how his future self's actions lead to the death of Frigga and eventual redemption with Thor, Loki confessed that "I don't enjoy hurting people," feeling that he must do it to prevent other people from seeing him as weak.
Trailers for Loki have centered on the character's partnership with the bureaucratic Mobius and his associates in order to protect "the Sacred Timeline" from an unknown hooded figure assassinating the TVA's Minutemen and stealing their equipment. This individual, as Mobius revealed, is another alternate Loki and, while their face has yet to be shown, it's been speculated that actor Sophia Di Martino has been cast as Lady Loki, an allusion to the character's confirmed genderfluid identity. Similarly, the first episode also teased a previous "Multiversal War" that existed before the TVA's founders, the Timekeepers, created the Sacred Timeline, which could connect the show to Marvel's upcoming movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Loki stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15 and Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane and Eugene Cordero. Episode 1 of Loki is available now on Disney+.
