Ratchet & Clank are among the most iconic game series; one of the series-defining traits is the multitude of weapons the game offers.

Insomniac's Games action platformer, Ratchet & Clank has been one of the most prolific game series in Sony's PlayStation console history. As a third-person, action-platformer, there is a large emphasis on guns and gadgets throughout the series. Since the series is structured within the space fantasy genre, many interesting, unique, and amazing weapons players can use through the series.

10 Omni-Wrench: The First Weapon That Has Lasted The Entire Series

Out the gate, players will start with the Omni-Wrench as their initial melee weapon through the series. It has tied to Ratchet's spaceship mechanic background and is used in countless puzzles in the series.

While it is a simple melee weapon that does not really expand beyond the standard melee attack, its iconic look and style are attached to the series; it is hard to separate this weapon from the series. Besides, it is a unique choice for a weapon in a game series.

9 Fusion Grenade/Bomb Glove: Every Hero Needs A Glove That Shoots Bombs

One of the first weapons in the series, the Fusion Grenade/Bomb Glove, is a reliable and powerful weapon often one of the first weapons Ratchet & Clank pick up. The weapon often appears as a metallic glove that throws grenades.

There is nothing extraordinary about the weapon as it is just a simple grenade launcher. The weapon is one of the more reliable weapons at taking down bosses or large groups of enemies—simple, effective, and fun.

8 Predator Launcher: For When A Rocket Launcher Is Too Simple

This Weapon was introduced in the later games but quickly became a top-tier weapon to have.  It functions like a rocket launcher, but it can lock onto multiple enemies and fire a set of lock-on missiles. Players can stack the missiles on a single target if they want to.

The Weapon's lock-on capabilities are a great way to clear out a group of enemies. It is advantageous when dealing with any airborne enemies and being able to take down hovercrafts.

7 Plasma Whip: It Is Like A Lightsaber But A Whip, A Lightwhip

The Plasma Whip was a weapon appearing in Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. Though it has not had many appearances in other games, it quickly made a lasting impression. It is exactly as the name suggests, a whip made of plasma. Players could use this as their Melee weapon in place of the Omni-Wrench.

The whip even has an upgraded version called the Quantum whip, which appears like a whip made out of the nebula. It may not have had many iterations in other games, but boy, is it a fun weapon to use.

6 Sheepinator: One Of The Many Joke Weapons In The Series

Now there are three different versions of this weapon, Morph-O-Ray/Sheepinator/Quack-O-Ray. However, all of them function the same. Players can use the weapon to change enemies into either chickens, sheep, or ducks, respectively.

The more popular one being the Sheepinator as it had more appearances in games and even appeared in the Ratchet & Clank movie. The weapon can be fairly weak at first, taking a long time to turn enemies into animals but any weapon that changes people into sheep is instantly memorable.

5 Buzz blades: Tear Your Enemies To Shreds By Chucking Buzzsaws At Them

This weapon has appeared in many titles in the series and functions the same across the series as a gun that shoots buzzsaws. The weapon can be upgraded to the point where the buzzsaws ricochet across the level, bouncing off walls and ceilings.

One of the best things to do with this weapon is to upgrade it to the max. In a level of a crowded room with tons of enemies, unleash the weapon, and the blades bounce all over the room with a satisfying metal ting each time the blades bonce off the walls.

4 Pixelizer: Bring That Retro Flare To Fighting Your Enemies

While only appearing in the rebooted  Ratchet & Clank (2016), it made a lasting impression in the weapons collection. The weapon functions like a shotgun, but they turn into 8-bit versions of the enemies when you shoot at the enemies. The enemies sound even sound like old 8-bit sounds when hit by this weapon.

This is a highly inventive weapon. It tasks an already simple weapon of the shotgun seen in most video games and modifies it into a fun, creative, and satisfying weapon.

3 Mr. Zurkon: Mr. Zurkon Is Here To Kill

One of the newer weapons, Mr. Zurkon, has first introduced in Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time then appeared in each subsequent sequel in the main Ratchet & Clank series. Mr. Zurkon is a tiny robot that floats by Ratchet and fights alongside you. It is essentially a floating turret that travels with the player.

To add to this, Mr. Zurkopn has a large number of quips such as: "Mr. Zurkon conducts a symphony of pain," "Mr. Zurkon does not need bolts. His currency is pain". Just a fun weapon/buddy to have while saving the galaxy.

2 Groovitron: A Mobile Disco Ball That Makes Enemies Dance The Night Away

Another newer weapon to the franchise is a fan-favorite weapon. The Player launches the Disco Ball much like a grenade then all affected enemies within the area begin to dance. Each Enemy has a unique dance move they perform.

The Groovitron even works on bosses in the game. However, the weapon does not do any damage. Just being able to see each unique dancing animation is a time and a half, to say the least.

1 RYNO: The Ultimate Weapon In Every Ratchet & Clank Game

The RYNO is synonymous with the series; it cannot be a Ratchet & Clank game without it. It is typically the last weapon of the game as the player has to collect the multiple parts of the weapon across the game.

The RYNO has the most versions of the weapon across the series. The ability ranges from a large missile barrage to a giant laser raining down upon the enemies. It is essentially Ratchet & Clank's version of Doom's BFG.
