A set video and images for from Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema's Shazam! Fury of the Gods offer a sneak peek at Rachel Zegler's mystery character and her costume in the DC Extended Universe movie.
Posted to Twitter, the video and photos show Zegler wearing an outfit that includes a golden cape along with matching metallic shoulder pads, forearm guards and upper body armor. Shazam! director David F. Sandberg, who's also helming the sequel, has yet to reveal anything about the character she's playing in the film. However, her role is described as being "key" to the story in Fury of the Gods.
This isn't the first time photos have leaked from the movie's set, providing a sneak peek at the cast in action. Shazam actor Zachary Levi was previously spotted sporting his new DCEU superhero costume, which includes an updated belt, lightning bolt, bracers and accents. In response, Sandberg shared a shadowy and dramatic teaser featuring Levi in his upgraded super-suit. Of course, in keeping with the playful nature of the franchise, the video endeded with Levi cracking wise about the lighting.
Zegler is set to make her big screen debut starring in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story remake as Maria, a role made famous by Natalie Wood in the 1961 film adaptation of the acclaimed Broadway stage musical. Initially scheduled for 2020, West Side Story was pushed back to December in response to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Zegler is also the second Colombian American actor to sign on for a DCEU superhero project, with Sasha Calle having previously been tapped to play Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in Andy Muschietti's The Flash.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods saw it own release date change a couple of times as Warner Bros. reshuffled its film slate in reaction to the health crisis. Other DCEU movies with confirmed released dates include The Suicide Squad (Aug. 6), Black Adam (July 29, 2022), The Flash (Nov. 4, 2022) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Dec. 16, 2022).

Fury of the Gods stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Marta Milans as Mama Rosa, Helen Mirren as Hespera, Lucy Liu as Kalypso and Rachel Zegler in an undisclosed role.
