The Boys Casts Walking Dead's Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess

Laurie Holden, who played Andrea in the first three seasons of AMC's The Walking Dead, has joined Season 3 of Amazon Prime Video's The Boys.

According to Variety, Holden will recur in Season 3 as Crimson Countess, a supe from the ground known as Payback. Much like Soldier Boy, an incarnation of Crimson Countess existed during World War II, while the second was active in the modern day.

Holden joins fellow newcomers Sean Patrick Flannery as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler as Blue Hawk and Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic, as well as the aforementioned Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles.

Based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Katia Winter as Little Nina, Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Sean Patrick Flannery as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler as Blue Hawk, Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic and Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess. Season 3 has yet to receive a premiere date.
