Turner & Hooch Trailer Reveals Heartbreaking Fate of Tom Hanks' Character

Disney+ released the first trailer for the Turner & Hooch sequel series.

The trailer sees Josh Peck's Scott Turner inherit a large and untrained French Mastiff from his late father, Tom Hanks' similarly named Scott Turner of the 1989 film. Although he's reluctant to take him in, Hooch soon proves to be a faithful and competent partner for the young detective.

Turner & Hooch is a 12-episode TV reboot of the 1989 buddy cop film starring Tom Hanks as Scott Turner, a police investigator, and Beasley the Dog as Hooch, the pet of Turner's murdered friend Amos The adaptation is being led by the creator of The Gifted, Matt Nix, and is a part of Nix's overall deal with 20th TV (formerly 2oth Century Fox TV).

When an ambitious, buttoned-up US Marshal inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the dog he didn’t want may be the partner he needs. “Turner & Hooch” stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner, son of Detective Scott Turner portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 1989 film of the same name.

Created by Matt Nix, Turner & Hooch stars Josh Peck, Lyndsy Fonseca, Carra Patterson, Vanessa Lengies, Anthony Ruivivar, Brandon Jay McLaren and Jeremy Maguire, with Becca Tobin and Reginald VelJohnson. The series premieres July 21 on Disney+.
