Young Justice Season 4: Everything We Know So Far | CBR

Young Justice is a series that follows the journey of teenage superhero sidekicks as they try to prove to the world what they are capable of. Not wanting to live in the shadows of superheroes as mere sidekicks, the team sets out on their adventures. To date, there have been three seasons of Young Justice.

Season 4 of Young Justice is one of the most highly anticipated releases. It is no secret that season 3 was released 6 years after the release of season 2--however, the gap between seasons 3 and 4 is unlikely to be that long despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The creators have kept most things under a veil, however, certain things are known about the upcoming season.

10 The Subtitle Of The New Season

The new season of Young Justice was announced at the San Diego Comic-con in 2019--however, the creators had failed to disclose the subtitle of the new season during that time. Sometime later, there was another Young Justice panel at the DC FanDome, where the creators announced that the season would be called "Young Justice: Phantoms."

Although the plot has been kept a secret, the subtitle hints at some of the storylines. The possibilities are endless as they have an entire multiverse at their disposal to create one of the wildest plots.

9 The Possible Storyline

Young Justice has had a history of adapting unconventional storylines from the comics and it would not be surprising for them to do the same with the upcoming season. The end of season three hinted at the possibility of Legion Of Superheroes entering the Young Justice timeline with their time-traveling abilities.

They have also shown signs of Red Hood entering the new season --it has also been hinted that Wally West would be bought back from the dead despite trying to convince viewers that he is gone for good. There are many ways that the next season could go and the wait seems neverending to the dedicated viewers.

8 The Length Of The New Season

Not a lot is known about the new season of Young Justice. However, the duration of the season is most likely to be 26 episodes. This fits in with the length of previous seasons except for season 2 where it was only 20 episodes long.

The wait between the anticipation of these episodes and the eventual episodes themselves is huge. Hopefully, the creators would be able to utilize the duration well rather than dragging the series or hurrying the plotlines. Fans have hoped to see the character growth and development of their favorite heroes.

7 The Release Date

The creators are yet to announce the final release date for the next season of Young Justice. Predictions based on information released about the speed of production say that it should release by the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.

This means that the trailer would be out soon and hopefully clear a lot of things including the plot, characters, and other details. Fans of this series are eagerly looking forward to finding out which of their beloved characters will be seen onscreen again.

6 Where Can You Watch Season 4

Young Justice had moved around quite a bit on different streaming services. It was initially created for Cartoon Network but got canceled after the second season. Warner Bros picked it up and renewed it for a third season which aired on DC Universe in 2019.

The upcoming season will not air on DC Universe but instead will be moving to HBO Max. Irrespective of the streaming service, fans are elated that the show was renewed for a new season and are excitedly waiting for further details about season 4 of Young Justice.

5 The Production Status

Greg Weisman's social media is a great source for updates about the new season as he occasionally tweets about the progress being made. His latest tweet said that nine episodes were fully finished, six were in post-production, and eleven are being animated in South Korea currently.

The pre-production of the entire season is done with and we can expect a tentative airing date and maybe even a trailer sometime in the near future. Fans have been keeping an eye on Greg's socials for any further updates or announcements.

4 The Cast Of The Next Season

Although there has been no announcement about the cast of the new season of Young Justice, there are bound to be new characters in the upcoming episodes. Besides this, it is safe to assume that the main cast will be retaining their roles as there was no announcement of any major departures.

This includes Jesse McCartney as Dick Grayson and Robin, Nolan North as Connor Kent and Superboy, Danica McKellar as M'gann M'orzz and Miss Martian, Khary Payton as Kaldur'ahm and Aqualad, and Stephanie Lemelin as Artemis Crock and Tigress. These characters are adored by the fans and the viewers are looking forward to seeing them in action.

3 The Producers Of The Show

Young Justice has been a beautifully made series and the producers deserve due credit for the same. Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman will be developing, producing, writing, and editing the story of the new season. The previous seasons were also produced by Brandon and Greg and they showed us what they are capable of.

The viewers are very excited to see what these creators have in store for season 4--and their social media handles (especially Greg's) are a great place to look out for updates.

2 Creators Who Will Make Season 4

The artists are one of the most important aspects of creating an animated show. Without them, the conceptualization would not take place and there wouldn't be anyone who would turn the characters from the page to the screen.

The artists responsible for the creation of the new season of Young Justice have been working day and night to make the series as great as it can be. Phil Bourassa and Dou Hong are working on the lead character design, Christopher Jones is the storyboard revisionist, Emily Hu and Kelly Kao are the storyboard artists, and Cole Rothacker is the assistant production manager.

1 What Are Fans Expecting

There are some die-hard fans of this show who are eagerly waiting for the next season. They have their own theories and predictions as to what the showrunners will be airing next. One of the most predicted plots is time travel. The audience is expecting either time-travelers from the future coming into the present or the present characters going to the past to reveal certain plots.

Another expectation is a Darkseid arc--fans are particularly intrigued to see how this new god will be incorporated into the storyline further--besides this, the audience is looking forward to seeing Artemis get a new love interest.
