Many characters in anime have some aspect of their lives that they want to change. Whether they express a desire through mere words or make a literal wish, sometimes what they wanted comes at a price. Even when made with the best intentions, wishes often have unintended consequences.
These consequences are sometimes deadly, resulting in the tragic demise of the character or the people around them. Oftentimes, characters who made the wish can't do anything to take it back, and have to find ways to move on or to make things right some other way.
