Cable's Final Issue Pits the Young & Old X-Man Against Their Evil Clone (Exclusive)

The young and classic versions of Nathan Summers square off against their evil clone Stryfe in Cable #12, the final issue of the X-Men series.

CBR has the exclusive first look at Cable #12 by writer Gerry Duggan and artist Phil Noto. The issue serves as a tie-in to "The Last Annihilation" cosmic crossover event taking place in Guardians of the Galaxy and S.W.O.R.D. The Cable #12 first look features Stryfe and his hoard of demons battling Kid Cable and older Classic Cable. Along for backup are Esme of the Stepford Cuckoos and Deadpool, with the latter slicing off a demon's head in the background.

"Phil and I have had some of the most fun of our careers bringing you the high octane adventures of a young soldier in a young romance while fighting an old war," Duggan told CBR. "We hope you enjoy the landing as much as we had cooking it up."

Classic Cable made his official return in Cable #11 when Kid Cable asked The Five to resurrect him on Krakoa. Kid Cable recruits his older counterpart in their neverending war against Stryfe, who has stolen five mutant babies to sacrifice for his evil schemes. Aiding the Cables, Esme and Deadpool are Cyclops, Marvel Girl (Jean Grey), Domino, Hope Summers and Prestige (Rachel Summers).
