Harry Potter actor Bonnie Wright, who portrayed Ginny Weasley in the eight-film franchise, recently admitted that she's not ready for a Potter reunion just yet.
"I would hope that they keep it as it was," the 30-year-old actor told People. "I think it's like a time capsule, and [if] you open it and it changes and everything feels kind of different…"
Wright added that, while she loved portraying Ginny in the film, she's in no hurry to reprise the role, explaining, "For sure, I miss playing Ginny, but I always quite like the idea that it's properly compacted into those seven years at Hogwarts."
She also noted, however, that she would never say never to reuniting with her former castmates sooner than later. "At the same time, I love the experience so much," she said. "And I know that the production and all of us would do it so well that no matter what they imagined, it would be brilliant."
While the Harry Potter franchise came to an official close in 2011, a handful of props from the set of the film were auctioned off back in May. Among the items sold during Prop Store's second Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction were a pair of iconic dark-rimmed glasses worn by Daniel Radcliffe on both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2's sets. The auction also included a wand used by the actor.
Each of the items were expected to sell for $30,000-$50,000 each, with proceeds benefitting Lumos -- a charity that was founded by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and that fights to end the institutionalization of children worldwide.
In other Potter-related news, a new deep fake video was recently posted online that showed what the Wizarding World would have looked like if the adults were portrayed by American actors. The video used deep fake technology to swap the faces of several characters, including Meryl Streep as Professor McGonagall and Keanu Reeves as Sirius Black. The video also featured pieces of dialogue from other films, resulting in a funny mashup of sorts. Other American actors who appear in the edit include Morgan Freeman as Professor Albus Dumbledore, Adam Driver as Severus Snape and Nicolas Cage as Voldemort.
The Harry Potter franchise starred Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch, Maggie Smith, Jason Isaacs, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, and Michael Gambon. All eight films are available on DVD and Blu-ray and are currently streaming on Peacock.
