Jordan Peele revealed the poster for his upcoming horror feature Nope.
The writer/director shared the poster on Twitter with a single cloud emoji, and it features a cloud with a kite tail attached seemingly moving towards a small town in a valley.
Nope will see Peele reunite with Daniel Kaluuya, star of his debut thriller Get Out, alongside Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira and Brandon Perea. The film will release on July 22, 2022.
Though mainly known for his work in comedy, including the Peabody Award-winning sketch series Key & Peele, Jordan Peele pivoted to working in the horror genre with Get Out in 2017. The film went on to break box office records for films with first-time directors and earned Peele an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Peele followed up with the sci-fi slasher Us, earning further critical acclaim and box office success.
Peele recently admitted he enjoys working behind the camera much more than in front of it and may give up acting entirely. "I can watch the films I direct," he said. "[But] watching me perform just feels like, it’s a bad kind of masturbatory. It’s masturbation you don’t enjoy." In addition to directing, Peele has put his efforts towards producing, including the upcoming Candyman remake directed by Nia DaCosta and a remake of 1991's The People Under the Stairs.
