One Piece: 10 Fights Everyone Forgets About | CBR

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece has some of the most extraordinary fights sprinkled across over a thousand chapters. Although One Piece's strongest asset is undoubtedly the storytelling and worldbuilding that Oda has beautifully crafted, being a shonen manga means that the story focuses on battles quite often.

Throughout Luffy's journey across the seas of the world, fans have been treated with some incredible clashes and while most of them remain etched into their minds, others aren't talked about as often and simply get forgotten.

10 Usopp Took On Choo In A Comedic Encounter In Arlong Park

The Arlong Park arc of One Piece saw Usopp take on a Fishman named Choo. Despite not being nearly as strong as the Fishman, the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates was able to defeat him with trickery alone. After exhausting Choo by running all over Cocoyashi village, Usopp made use of whatever weapon he could find in his arsenal to defeat him and claim his first victory as a member of the Straw Hat Pirates.

9 Luffy Shattered Don Krieg's Pride With Grit On Baratie

Perhaps Luffy's biggest challenge in the East Blue Saga, Don Krieg was the captain of the Krieg Pirates and the strongest known pirate in the East Blue, thanks to his reputation as the strongest man with a massive armada. Krieg attacked Baratie, an oceangoing restaurant, and came face-to-face with Luffy. He was equipped with some of the strongest weapons, some of which could wipe out an entire town, yet he couldn't break down Luffy's spear of grit and, just like many other pirates in the story, fell to him.

8 Nami Vs. Miss Doublefinger Is An Underrated One Piece Fight

Nami's first big battle in the story came against Miss Doublefinger, an Officer Agent of Crocodile's Baroque Works. After receiving the Clima-Tact, Nami was finally able to take on strong enemies, and Miss Doublefinger was the first of the lot.

Although Nami ran from her for quite a bit, it's impressive that she had no knowledge of how the Clima-Tact worked prior to the fight and only managed to master it in the midst of it. Despite being weaker than Miss Doublefinger, she was able to overpower her with her wits and knowledge of the weather, making this fight extremely exciting.

7 Robin's Fight Against Yama On Skypiea Is Her Only Big Fight

Nico Robin fought Yama, the leader of Enel's Divine Forces, in the Skypiea arc of the story. After Yama destroyed ancient relics, it was a given that Robin would have no mercy for him.

As expected, Robin proceeded to give Yama a beatdown and defeated him within a few minutes, showing the fans that she's one to be feared. Unfortunately, Robin's fight was overshadowed by some other great clashes in the arc, and thus isn't talked about often.

6 Chopper Defeated Gedatsu During The Skypiea Arc

The Skypiea arc saw the Straw Hat Pirates fight against God Enel and his priests, one of whom was Gedatsu. Known to be the Ordeal of Swamp, Gedatsu made use of swamp clouds to kill all his opponents. He was also a user of Mantra, just like other priests, and could thus foresee most attacks. Despite everything that Gedatsu had in his arsenal, he wasn't able to get the better of Chopper who, by using his Brain Point, made him fall into his own Ordeal and sink.

5 Nami Took On Kalifa To Show The Power Of Science In Enies Lobby

Nami's fight against Kalifa remains one of the most surprising ones in the story as her opponent was a user of the Rokushiki and thus held superhuman powers. Despite that, Nami was able to get the better of Kalifa with nothing but sheer cleverness. Using science to her advantage, Nami confused Kalifa for long enough while she prepared a bolt of lightning strong enough to take Kalifa down. Nami's fight against Kalifa is arguably her best fight to date.

4 Zoro Encountered T-Bone On The Way To Enies Lobby

The Straw Hat Pirates boarded the Rocketman from Water Seven to Enies Lobby, and on the way, the group came face-to-face with Marine Captain T-Bone, a famed swordsman. Despite T-Bone being skilled in his own right, he wasn't able to stand up to the might of the Pirate Hunter, Roronoa Zoro.

In an intense clash of swords, Zoro was able to completely overwhelm T-Bone and power through, and the crew continued their journey to Enies Lobby to rescue their crewmate, Nico Robin.

3 Usopp Knocked Perona Out With His Bag of Tricks During The Thriller Bark Arc

Usopp fought Perona during One Piece's Thriller Bark arc. Though neither of them had much physical prowess, Perona had her Devil Fruit power to take away people's will to fight, while Usopp's biggest weapon was his negative nature. Consequently, Perona's Devil Fruit powers were useless against Usopp and the fight quickly evolved into a game of bluffs. Usopp was ultimately able to knock Perona out with his tricks and win the fight without hurting her even once.

2 Smoker Was Completely Outclassed By Trafalgar Law On Punk Hazard

Smoker and the G-5 Unit of the Navy followed the Straw Hat Pirates all the way to Punk Hazard where they were met with a surprise: the Shichibukai, Trafalgar Law. The Vice-Admiral quickly engaged Smoker in battle, and despite being a decent user of Haki, Smoker was immediately outclassed. Law was able to steal Smoker's heart and knock him out shortly after the fight began and fans got to see the full extent of Law's overpowered Devil Fruit ability.

1 Brook Stood Up To Big Mom In The Whole Cake Island Arc

The Whole Cake Island arc gave fans a clash of soul powers as the "Soul King" Brook went head-to-head against the Yonko of the Sea, Charlotte Linlin, aka Big Mom, who commanded the ability of the Soru Soru no Mi. Brook has already accomplished his goal of stealing Big Mom's Poneglyphs by then, and expectedly, he lost to the Yonko. Despite being a user of soul powers himself, Big Mom's ability was superior to his, as was her strength as a Yonko.
