Brendan Fraser's Passion for Nintendo Led to This Adorable Meet and Greet

Brendan Fraser, star of classic action-comedy films like The Mummy and Looney Tunes: Back in Action, took a fan by surprise after briefly delaying a meet and greet to play on his Nintendo Switch.

The clip, captured and uploaded by YouTuber Scott Lawrence, starts off with Fraser oblivious to Lawrence's presence. He seems to mistake the fan for someone else, motioning him to wait a moment before continuing to play on his Switch. It's currently unknown what game consumed Fraser's attention to such an extent, fans are enamored with the Hollywood star's commitment to his Switch.

While Fraser's enthusiasm for his Nintendo Switch is completely understandable, the detail most fans are fawning over is the label on the back of the console. Just below the Nintendo Switch logo, a label that reads "Fraser" is easily identifiable; Many fans have expressed delight at Fraser's relatability and need to mark his property.

The video was organized as a part of a GalaxyCon event which allowed fans to reach out and have a brief discussion with some of their favorite celebrities. Lawrence states that the video isn't actually an interview, clarifying that the event allowed the YouTuber to buy two minutes with Brendan Fraser.

While Brendan Fraser was known as one of the biggest blockbuster stars in the 90s and early 2000s, he all but vanished from the industry following a string of commercially unsuccessful films. His acting career was taking a toll on his body, requiring several major surgeries following the release of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008. Fraser's despondence toward Hollywood reached a peak after being sexually harassed by a successful producer. Fraser all but retired from the spotlight in the early 2010s, taking on smaller roles in lower-budget productions.

Yet the comedic actor is currently experiencing a renaissance. After avoiding blockbuster films for several years, Fraser is steadily making a return with appearances in critically acclaimed and beloved productions like TrustThe Affair and, perhaps most notably, Doom Patrol as Cliff Steele AKA Robot Man. Fraser is also starring in the upcoming Killers of the Flower Moon, a crime drama directed by Martin Scorsese.

Still, there's one question still digging away at fan's imaginations: What exactly was Brendan Fraser playing? Some speculate that the actor was redesigning his island in Animal Crossing, while others believe he was on his way to smite Ganon in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Whatever it was, one can only hope that he was having a great time.
