Cyberpunk 2077: The 5 Best Side-Quests | CBR

Cyberpunk 2077's sprawling megalopolis of Night City is positively glowing with opportunity and adventure. Following the player-created gun-for-hire V, the game begs players to explore everything it has to offer, from its seedy underworld to its stunning high-rises, while experiencing all the stories they contain.

With multiple factions, characters, branching storylines and more, there is a veritable cornucopia of quests available for players to enjoy. However, with all that is on offer, it can be a little overwhelming. Here are five amazing quests that every player should complete during their time in Night City.

While engaging on the many quests along on V's story, there is one that offers a truly unique experience. Cyberpunk 2077 certainly has its moments of intense violence, it also has calmer, more relaxing social encounters like "Pyramid Song." In this quest, players follow Judy Alvarez, a Mox and the resident braindance engineer, to a lake so she may explore part of the city beneath.

As they test out tech that allows V and Judy to talk, she will, momentarily, "hear" Johnny Silverhand speak to players. This moment may not seem like much, but it is easily one of the story's most vindicating scenes, as Judy comes closer than anyone to understanding what V is experiencing. After this quest, players gain access to Judy's apartment as a safe house and the iconic Mox shotgun.

This quest takes the terrible implications of the cyber-world and runs with them. While traveling through Night City, players may receive a call from Elizebeth Peralez. She requests assistance and, should players succeed in her quest, Elizabeth will call shortly after and offer another.

In "Dream On," Elizabeth and her husband Jefferson task players with finding out who broke into their luxury apartment. After some digging and a short investigation, players will discover a shadowy cabal has been altering their minds. When Elizabeth tells V to lie to her husband about the situation so she may investigate alone, players are given a terrifying chance to decide what they believe is right and wrong. Regardless, V walks away with a healthy sum of eddies for their troubles -- and the knowledge of what their decision may have wrought.

"Losing My Religion" has V encounter a Bhikkhu, a Buddhist Monk, in Watson. Despite his religious objections, he appears to be heavily augmented with quite ugly modifications. Players who speak to the Bhikkhu will discover that he was kidnapped and modified against his will by Maelstrom, a violent street gang. He asks players to save his brother before it's too late but requests that, despite their wrongdoings, no members of Maelstrom die in the task.

V has multiple options for accomplishing this quest. They may go in aggressively and slaughter the gang in a righteous act of vengeance, or they may take the non-lethal option and try to save the monk without bloodshed. While inside the Maelstrom base, players should be sure to pick up Fenrir, a rare iconic weapon found on the table near the saved monk.

While exploring Pacifica, V will encounter a group of Pacificans attempting to fix a broken rollercoaster. If they offer to help, players can scan the coaster and apply the finishing touches. Once the ride is secure, the group will have second thoughts about its safety, so V and a very enthusiastic Johnny take the first trip.

On the rollercoaster, players have some options. Although players get nothing from completing "Love Rollercoaster," it is, undoubtedly, one of the most peaceful and light-hearted moments in an otherwise tense and emotionally distressing game. Providing some levity and helping establish the bond between Johnny and V, this quest is a strangely comforting and rewarding experience.

This quest is where Cyberpunk 2077 shows its colors. In "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out," V receives communication from Wakako to assist Bill Jablonsky. Bill needs V as hired muscle to accompany him on quest to get revenge against Joshua Stephenson, the man who killed Bill's wife. However, this job is short-lived, as the accompanying Night City Police officer swiftly kills Bill.

Following the job, Joshua asks V to join him on his religious journey. Finding Christianity in prison, Josh repents for his crimes wants V to assist him in apologizing to those he wronged and performing the ultimate sacrifice: crucifixion. Joshua regularly requests reassurance, but it is up to players to choose how to respond. Ultimately, the quest can culminate in players crucifying Joshua themselves, and how he feel about it varies depending on their choices. V's decisions also impact the number of Eddies they can earn, as the more V leans into it, the more they'll gain.
