Jace Fox takes his next steps in becoming the new Dark Knight of Gotham City in I Am Batman, a new series spinning out of the upcoming Fear State event.
CBR has an exclusive first look at I Am Batman #1 from writer John Ridley and artist Olivier Coipel. The pages show Fox's Batman racing through the Gotham streets on a motorcycle, as a red car endangers the pedestrians in its way. Fox is also sporting his own version of a Dark Knight suit, complete with a full face mask instead of a half-cowl. This is similar to the costume he wore in Future State, which took place in a possible future of the DC Universe.
Fear State is a story arc crossing through the Batman Family of titles, and features Scarecrow continuing to use fear to gripe Gotham City. Meanwhile, Mayor Christopher Nakano is going through with the Magistrate program. I Am Batman follows The Next Batman: Second Son digital miniseries that peeled back the curtain on Jace Fox and his journey to becoming the Dark Knight.
I Am Batman #1 goes on sale Sept. 14 from DC.
