Fire Emblem is well-known for its support conversations that occur between characters throughout the franchise. These conversations often deepen the bond between characters, potentially to the point of marriage, and also add further character depth that they might not have during the events of the main story.
However, some support conversations come off as weird or awkward to watch. Some might be amusing, while others are just plain odd for various reasons. From having a back massage in the middle of a battle to proposing to another for the sake of science, fans found these support conversations strange and sometimes hilarious.
10 Louise Fixes Guy's Hair Without Warning (Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade)
In The Blazing Blade, Louise fixes Guy's hair during their C-support. What's strange about it is that Louise does this to Guy without a little warning beforehand, not explaining what exactly she was doing standing behind him until after she's done fixing his hair.
Guy is understandably perplexed by this, and fans were also just as confused. It's even more hilarious when it's revealed that Louise gave Guy little braids in his hair. Many fans got a good laugh out of imagining Guy with his new unique hairstyle.
9 Nomah Gets Celica To Give Him A Back Massage (Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows Of Valentia)
During Nomah and Celica's support conversation, despite being in the middle of a battle at the time (as support conversations can only be done during a battle in Shadows Of Valentia,) Celica offers to give Nomah a back massage after Nomah mentions that his back is getting sore recently.
Fans wondered how these two managed to do this during a literal battle (especially with everyone else fighting each other around them) but otherwise found it fairly amusing to watch.
8 Xander Saves Felicia From Being Wrapped In Yarn (Fire Emblem: Fates)
Felicia and Xander share a fairly strange but hilarious support conversation in Fates. Felicia somehow gets herself wrapped up in yarn while doing her duties as a maid and Xander has no choice but to help her get untangled.
Some fans found it incredibly funny how clumsy Felicia was in general and how it got her into various messes like this. Other fans who imagined the entire scene playing out found it even more amusing that Xander, of all people, had to help her get out of accidentally tying herself up.
7 Chrom Walks In On Robin While She's Bathing (Fire Emblem: Awakening)
During Chrom and Robin's B Support, Chrom makes the unfortunate mistake of walking in on Robin while she's taking a bath, overeager to ask her about battle strategies. After Robin shoos Chrom out and time passes, both of them try their best to forget the incident ever happened as they discuss war tactics and other strategies.
Some fans found it funny that Chrom completely failed to realize that it was bad timing to visit Robin when he did. Thankfully for both Chrom and Robin themselves, their later supports do not contain anything as awkward as that incident.
6 Neimi Interrupts Garcia Hyping Himself Up For Battle (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)
In The Sacred Stones, Neimi walks in on Garcia getting ready for battle by hyping himself up. It's not uncommon for characters to mentally prepare themselves for strange situations and long battles in the game. However, the fact that Garcia takes this so seriously to the point of Neimi being scared by this hyping-up amused many fans.
Thankfully for some fans, later supports are not as strange between the two and they actually become quite amiable with each other.
5 Niles And Azura's A Support Compares Themselves To Porcupines And Roses (Fire Emblem: Fates)
In Fire Emblem: Fates, Niles and Azura's A-support conversation involves Niles initially admitting that he doesn't know what to talk about with Azura- before launching into the random subject of comparing both of them to porcupines.
The weird conversation that ensued was entertaining and it also included Azura later comparing herself to a rose. Considering how much of a smooth talker Niles usually is- fans found it funny that, for once, he didn't really know what to talk about.
4 Dedue And Byleth's C-Rank Support Conversation Involves Them Barely Speaking (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)
One of Byleth's many support conversations in Fire Emblem: Three Houses includes speaking with Dedue from the Blue Lions house, during the Azure Moon route. Awkwardly enough, however, both of them don't speak much during their first support conversation together in the game.
Many fans found this amusing, considering that neither of them actually talk much in general, but also simultaneously a little awkward. Thankfully, both of them do talk more in later support conversations as they get to know each other more and (if playing as female Byleth) romance each other.
3 Saul And Elen's B Support Conversation Is A Series Of Misunderstandings (Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade)
Saul and Elen's support conversation in The Binding Blade made many fans burst into laughter at the series of non-deadly misunderstandings that ensued in the conversation. Saul, despite being a priest, tries to proposition Elen by claiming that he wants to talk to her about their god's love in private during the evening.
Unfortunately for Saul, Elen misunderstands this as an opportunity for him to preach to her that evening and plans to invite the others to hear his sermon. Fans were extremely amused at Saul realizing that he needed to actually prepare a sermon for that night, or ditch plans entirely for a nighttime rendevous.
2 Miriel Tries Studying Virion's Fortunetelling (Fire Emblem: Awakening)
In Miriel and Virion's first support conversation with each other in Awakening, Miriel approaches Virion to study his fortune-telling. Virion immediately tries to back out, but eventually Miriel ends up insisting on studying his fortunetelling, despite all of Virion's protests.
Fans found this hilarious, considering that the usually suave Virion was thrown into a corner he couldn't back out of due to how determined Miriel was to study his talents. While other fans wondered how the studies would go. Later supports reveal Virion continuing to run away from Miriel's studies, until their S support where they can get married.
1 Linhardt Proposes To Flayn For The Sake Of Science (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)
In Three Houses, many fans were surprised, shocked, and amused when Linhardt proposed to Flayn in their A-rank support conversation for the sake of seeing whether their children would have Crests together.
Linhardt was especially curious about advancing this field of science since Flayn has a Major Crest of Cethleann while Linhardt has a Minor Crest. Even more hilarious to fans is that if Flayn and Linhardt obtain a paired ending by the end of the game, it turns out that Flayn accepted marrying Linhardt after all.
