Stargirl Star Opens Up About [SPOILER]'s Death | CBR

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for "Summer School: Chapter Two," the latest episode of Stargirl.

Stargirl's Meg DeLacy -- who plays Cindy Burman, aka Shiv -- has opened up regarding a major death from the DC television series' latest episode and what exactly it means for the show going forward.

In "Summer School: Chapter Two" -- which aired on The CW yesterday, Aug. 17 -- Cindy kills her step-mother, Bobbie Burman (Lesa Wilson), after being possessed by Eclipso. "Well, see, that scene was very important for me to really create a relationship with this Black Diamond and what it means to me and that I hold it in my fingers and that I understand that, at this point, I think my relationship is pretty good. So once he takes over my body... this is the first time Cindy really loses herself," DeLacy said in an exclusive interview with CBR.

"Although she has such a weird power play relationship with her stepmom Bobbie, that's her only person that exists in her life that can give some normalcy, that can act as her mom," she continued. "She can bop around, she can poke around, and she listens, and she's used to just that control. Once that is taken away from her, she never thought that that would ever happen, because she was in control of making sure that Bobbie stays alive so there's always someone that is under her... Once that's out of her control and she knows that Eclipso made her do it, losing herself, she was terrified."

DeLacy went on to say that Cindy was "really was broken about the death of Bobbie, because that was never gonna be the plan. She was supposed to be part of it. I think the audience is going to realize how much -- you know, there is a heart that lives within this teenage girl. She doesn't want to just go around, messing everything up. She wants to have a strategic plan. This is the first time you actually kind of see that she's regretful, that she's scared. But she's fearful of this thing that she summoned, and now, it may be too late to really put it away."
