The cast of Marvel Studios' What If...? continues to grow, adding even more familiar voices from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel released a press release today revealing even more big (and small) names from across the history of the MCU who will join the first animated project from the studio. While a number of prominent voice actors were already known, with the show serving as the final role for Chadwick Boseman, some key players have been officially confirmed. Given that What If...? is a series about alternate realities within the MCU, the specific roles each of these actors are playing could change. For instance, we know that Boseman will be playing T'Challa but not Black Panther. Instead, he will take the place of Chris Pratt's Peter Quill as Star-Lord. Still, it's exciting to see such a massive list of returning actors, including smaller roles like Leslie Bibb as news anchor Christine Everhart and Bradley Whitford as John Flynn from the Agent Carter One-Shot.
Of course, some big names are also missing. Despite the appearance of a zombie-hunting Spider-Man in the promotion for What If...?, Tom Holland won't be appearing on the series. But if the show's a hit, perhaps a second season will allow even more multiversal stories to be told -- and more MCU actors to appear.
Directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as head writer, What If...? premieres Aug. 11 on Disney+.
