5 Things We Like About WarioWare: Get It Together (& 5 Things We Don't)

WarioWare is one of Nintendo's most unique and underrated series. The goal of the games is to complete microgames, which only last a few seconds, very quickly. The series began nearly 20 years ago with WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$, but has come a long way since then.

WarioWare: Get It Together is the newest installment in the series. It was released on September 10th on the Switch, and a lot of fans have been having a great time with it. However, there are also some things that hold the game back and it could have been much better without them.

10 Like: There Are A Lot Of Great Characters To Play As

Unlike other games in the series, WarioWare: Get It Together has a lot of playable characters, each of which has their own abilities. This gives fans a reason to play the game many times, as long as they enjoy the different characters, which are unlocked throughout the campaign.

Wario is obviously the first playable character and throughout his adventure, he meets up with all of his other friends. Some of the most fun characters are Mona, 9-Volt, Ashley, and Orbulon.

9 Dislike: Some Of The Characters Aren't Good

While some of the characters are a lot of fun, there are others that aren't nearly as good, whether it be due to how difficult they are to control or that they have too much in common with another character. The hardest characters to play as are Penny, Pyoro, and 5-Volt.

It will take a while for fans to get used to playing these three especially compared to the others. And depending on how fans decide to play the game, they may lose each time they have to play as them. It would have been much better if they were simpler.

8 Like: The Nintendo Classics Are A Blast From The Past

All of the microgames are separated into their own categories, with the best being Nintendo Classics. Fans of some of Nintendo's most iconic games can play them in a new way that they never would have thought of.

Whether it be Super Mario Bros.Animal Crossing: New LeafThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, or even earlier WarioWare titles, there's something for every Nintendo fan to enjoy.

7 Dislike: The Campaign Was Too Short

One of the worst things about the game is how short the campaign is, yet players need to unlock every microgame by playing it. On most playthroughs, gamers will finish the campaign before getting all of the microgames and will have to go back in order to get them.

It would have been better if the campaign was longer and players could have earned each microgame before the end of it.

6 Like: Multiplayer Is Great

While WarioWare: Get It Together is already fun to play alone, it's even better when joining friends, similar to Mario Party or Super Smash Bros. There are different modes that allow players to work together.

The Story and Play-o-pedia modes can be played with two people, and the Variety Pack can be played with four people, with some of the games in it needing to have at least two players. If two people have a Switch and a copy of the game, they can also play together locally.

5 Dislike: Only Half Of The Lines Were Actually Voiced

Though it doesn't make the game any less fun, it was disappointing that there was little voice acting compared to how much the characters spoke. This may be common for a lot of games, but what makes it worse for WarioWare: Get It Together is that there are times where there will be voice acting for half the words a character says in one conversation, while the other half are cut out.

There are also times where one character's lines were recorded while another wasn't in the same cutscene. This made the cutscenes feel very strange and this problem could have easily been avoided.

4 Like: A Lot Of The Microgames Are Fun

Because the microgames are the main thing that WarioWare: Get It Together has to offer, it's important that they are fun despite how short they are. Luckily, there are a lot of microgames that are enjoyable to play, such as Defend the Flowers, There's a Monster Behind You!, and Virus Buster.

These microgames make WarioWare: Get It Together really fun, whether gamers want to play for just a few minutes or all day.

3 Dislike: Some Of The Microgames Aren't

Similar to the characters, while a lot of microgames are fun, there are also some that are boring or complicated. These microgames hold WarioWare: Get It Together back as not as many players will want to play all of them.

A few of the worst ones are Sort It Out, Look Both Ways, Archer Assist, and Hide-and-Seek.

2 Like: It's A Great Mix Between Easy And Hard

Besides how hard it is to simply control a few of the characters and some of the microgames being difficult in an unfair way, there are a lot of great challenges in the game as well.

The microgames have different difficulties that can make them all generally easy or hard, and the characters have their own strengths and weaknesses, making them easy to beat one microgame and hard to beat another. No matter if gamers want something easy or hard, they can surely find it in WarioWare: Get It Together.

1 Dislike: The Boss Battles Aren't Actually Bosses

When gamers think of bosses, they expect to fight against a strong enemy. While there are a few bosses in this game, such as Spiky Wario and Poseidon, most of the boss microgames aren't what players would expect.

Despite Delivery Center, Super Mario World, Safari Tour, Great Juice, and Drawbridge Dilemma being some of the most unique and fun microgames in WarioWare: Get It Together, they aren't actually bosses, and it would have been cooler if there were more strong opponents to battle against.
