Demon Slayer: 10 Most One-Sided Fights, Ranked | CBR

The Demon Slayer manga and anime contain a large number of battles, as there is a war between humans and the demons who eat them. The humans have to face overwhelming odds, as the demons not only regenerate quickly but are vastly stronger.

The Upper Moons are particularly difficult to kill, as each of them have slain a large number of Hashira. Typically, 3 Hashira need to be present in order to have a chance of defeating one Upper Moon. Due to the vast differences in ability and experience, many of the battles (albeit interesting to watch) have been completely one-sided.

10 The Demon Slayers Were Easily Manipulated By The Spider Family

Lower-ranked Demon Slayers were sent to deal with the spider family, but they found themselves vastly outmatched. The mother used strings to puppet the slayers into killing each other, and until Tanjiro and Inosuke arrived, none of them were able to do a thing.

Later in the battle, Rui's threats towards the mother made her anxious, leading to her making careless mistakes despite originally having such a huge advantage.

9 Zenitsu Agatsuma Swiftly Defeated Kaigaku With A New Technique

Kaigaku was originally a disciple of Jigoro Kuwajima along with Zenitsu. Kaigaku was considered the more talented swordsman for years, which made him look down on Zenitsu. Unwilling to die or to become co-successors with Zenitsu, Kaigaku became a demon.

Their master took his life to atone for Kaigaku's transformation, which motivated Zenitsu to train harder in order to defeat Kaigaku. Zenitsu developed his own technique, and this along with Kaigaku's arrogance made the battle a short one.

8 Tanjiro Kamado Acted Desperately To Save Nezuko From Giyu Tomioka Despite Being Outmatched

Tanjiro once lived a simple and modest life with his family, selling charcoal to people in the village. With such a lifestyle, he was in no way prepared to battle a seasoned warrior like Giyu. Giyu held back while fighting Tanjiro, as his goal was to teach Tanjiro to be strong.

The battle was one-sided, but after Giyu knocked out Tanjiro, Tanjiro nearly took off Giyu's head with a cleverly thrown hatchet.

7 Giyu Defeated Rui Since The Demon Didn't React Quickly Enough

Despite being one of the strongest demons chosen by Muzan, Rui did not last long against Giyu. Giyu arrived just in time to save Tanjiro's life, effortlessly stopping each of Rui's attacks.

Rui wasn't strong enough or fast enough to keep up with Giyu, and was defeated before he can even react. Fighting Tanjiro blinded Rui with anger, as he was immensely jealous of their familial bonds.

6 Akaza Defeated An Entire Dojo As A Human

Before he even turned into the demon Akaza, Hakuji discovered that a rival dojo poisoned the well, killing both his fiancee Koyuki and her father, Keizo. In his rage, he went to the rival dojo and brutally killed all 67 members with only his bare hands.

This event was so preposterous that it was regarded as fictitious, and even Muzan was surprised to find that a human committed such an atrocity.

5 Hakuji Was Defeated By Keizo Before He Had Formal Training

Despite his father's wishes for him to lead a normal and honest life, Hakuji spent a large portion of his human life as a criminal. He could fight and defeat multiple men at once, and would often pick fights with others. One day, he met Keizo, who defeated him with surprising ease.

At the time, Hakuji had received no training, but Keizo took him in, training Hakuji and making his pupil responsible for watching over his sickly daughter.

4 Tanjiro Defeated Inosuke Hashibara With A Headbutt

Inosuke was like a wild animal. He charged into situations without thinking, and his primary concern was to fight strong opponents. When he tried to kill Nezuko and hurt Zenitsu for protecting her, Tanjiro found that he had no choice but to fight him.

The fight didn't last long, as Inosuke enjoyed showboating his strength and flexibility. Additionally, Tanjiro knocked him out with a headbutt with a forehead known for causing even demons a great deal of pain.

3 Shinobu Kocho Defeated A Spider Demon With A Single Blow

Two Hashira were sent to the forest to deal with the spider demons, since the lower ranking Demon Slayers were not able to defeat them. Shinobu came across the spider sister, who grossly underestimated Shinobu's strength.

While she was correct in assuming that Shinobu did not have the physical strength to cut her head off, she died the moment Shinobu cut her with her poisoned sword.

2 Tanjiro's Father Defeated A Bear With Only An Axe

Tanjiro's father, Tanjuro, was a quiet and sickly man. Although he seemed to have a mild temperament, he was more powerful than anyone ever suspected. When a wild bear came to the household, Tanjuro brought his son with him to watch him slay the creature with an axe.

The bear had absolutely no time to respond to the attack, and it was killed in an instant.

1 Muzan Kibutsuji Could Do Nothing Against Yoriichi Tsugikuni

Yoriichi was easily the strongest swordsman to ever live. When he first met Muzan, he realized that the demon was a threat. He immediately moved to defeat him, and after Yoriichi's first attack, Muzan realized that he was fighting a losing battle.

In order to avoid death, Muzan scattered his body into 1800 pieces. Yoriichi was able to cut 1500 of them, but Muzan was so terrified by the encounter that he avoided Yoriichi from that point on.
