MCU: 10 Movie Characters Loki Would Be Friends With | CBR

Loki Laufeyson is a beloved character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has been a part of the franchise for over 10 years, recently starring in his own Disney+ series that turned the MCU on its head. While the God of Mischief has had moments of jealousy and anger, he's actually becoming more of an anti-hero rather than that of a villainous monster.

Whether a villain or anti-hero, Loki is filled with wit and banter in addition to his charming personality, which constantly changes because of certain predicaments he finds himself in. However, can a leopard really change their spots for good? In the history of movies, there have been heroes, villains, and characters that land in a grey area. While Loki tends to be categorized in this grey area, certain villainous characters paired with the Asgardian trickster would make for a beautiful friendship.

10 Hannibal Lecter And Loki Both Hunger For Power Over People

Loki always wanted people to kneel before him and treat him as a true ruler of the world. Hannibal Lecter didn't necessarily want to be a leader, but he did enjoy power. Loki enjoyed the similar feeling of having power over people. While Loki's evilness wasn't as disgusting as Lecter's was, both men liked manipulating people to get what they wanted.

Also, Lecter was imprisoned and helped Clarice Starling in finding another serial killer named "Buffalo Bill", similar to the way Loki was captured in The Avengers and tried manipulating Black Widow and Nick Fury. Loki, in his evilest form, would work with anyone or anything to achieve his full power, so he'd probably use the smarts and intimidation factor of Lecter to accomplish his goal.

9 Grandpa Joe From Willy Wonka Is Selfish Yet Lovable Much Like Loki

People may be wondering why Grandpa Joe from Willy Wonka? The answer is simple, he's lazy and all he can do is lay in bed and smoke pipe tobacco. He only gets out of bed because his grandson Charlie won one of the rarest prizes in the world and he wants to be a part of it. Some people think Grandpa Joe was just old and sick, but it's clear he's just selfish and will only get out of bed for something that will benefit him and his family. Yet, there is a lovable person buried deep inside Grandpa Joe, much like Loki in the MCU.

Loki could use Grandpa Joe as a lackey and probably wouldn't be too heartbroken if Grandpa Joe felt the wrath of Thor and The Avengers. Early on in the MCU, Loki only cared about being the new King of Asgard or the new ruler of Earth, much like Grandpa Joe only cared about his grandson when Charlie inherited Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

8 Jason Voorhees And Loki Share A Love Of Sharp Weapons And Mothers

Loki may not look as scary as Jason Voorhees, but he gets pretty dark in 2012's The Avengers and he actually kills way more people than Jason ever did. However, these two would make for a dangerous team, especially since they share a love for sharp weapons and they never cared who they hurt.

They also both have close relationships with their mothers, although, Mrs. Voorhees is clearly quite far gone and Frigga is actually a good mother. Although as Freddy Krueger did in Freddy vs. Jason, the evil Loki could have used Jason as muscle to overtake The Avengers and maybe even Thanos. However, Loki wouldn't lose control over Jason, as Freddy did, because Loki's Asgardian powers of magic and trickery would keep the Friday the 13th star in check.

7 Darth Vader And Loki Are Evil Leaders With Good Still Inside Of Them

Darth Vader's power level may be the same as Loki's, perhaps even stronger, but they both have a lot of tricks up their sleeves. Additionally, both of them seek to rule over others and will destroy anyone who gets in their way. Yet, these two infamous villains changed their dark ways and they both returned to the path of good.

Loki was a trickster and mischievous as a youngster, much like Anakin Skywalker was a bratty punk who constantly whined about not getting what he wanted. However, both Loki and Anakin had a lot of good in them and all they needed was someone to believe in them like Luke did with Vader and Thor did with Loki. Whether they were fighting on the dark side or light, Loki and Vader would make for an extremely powerful duo and would be unstoppable.

6 The Riddler's Quick Wit And Dark Humor Mirror Loki's

In addition to both loving the color green, DC's The Riddler and Loki share a common wit and both of them always think they're the smartest guy in the room. They both have to deal with major heroes, Batman for The Riddler and Thor for Loki, and always try to be one step ahead of their rivals.

However, both Riddler and Loki seem to always fall short of taking down their rival and have to deal with their shortcomings. They also both share a narcissistic personality and seem to think the whole world revolves around them, which usually doesn't work out for them. Yet, if these two egomaniacal villains were to combine their talents of magic and mystery, they would fare better in their respective universes.

5 Jenny From Forrest Gump Takes Advantage Of Forrest And Loki Does The Same With Thor

Much like Grandpa Joe, Jenny from Forrest Gump is one of the more underrated evil characters in the history of film. She befriends Forrest when they're younger but is known for taking advantage of him and his kindness. Similar to how Forrest thought he and Jenny were like peas and carrots, younger Thor thought Loki was amazing and believed they would be fighting together forever.

Thor and Forrest both have issues but they mean well and have amazing hearts, which Loki and Jenny take advantage of. Much like Sylvie and Loki bonded on Disney+'s Loki, Jenny from Forrest Gump and Loki could share a train ride, good conversation, and a kiss, which would cement a terribly evil couple.

4 Judge Smails Uses His Power And Stature To Get What He Wants Much Like Loki

Judge Smails is rich, powerful, and someone who thinks he's better than everyone else. Loki may be a Frost Giant by birth, but he was born into the most powerful family on Asgard and believed it was his right to be king. Judge Smails is constantly ordering people around and is quite sneaky on the golf course, similar to how Loki takes over for Odin in Thor and betrays his brother to take over the throne.

Judge Smails isn't a murderer but he does have a temper and constantly uses his golf club to try and hit people, kind of like Loki using the mind-controlled staff in The Avengers. Loki and Smails may not be a powerful duo on paper, but seeing them enjoy a Fresca at Bushwood or some ale on Asgard would be hilarious.

3 Kaa- Loki Actually Turned Himself Into A Snake To Scare Thor

Thor tells a story in Thor: Ragnarok about when he and Loki were kids, Loki knew Thor loves snakes so Loki turned into a snake just to scare him. Kaa from The Jungle Book is an actual snake who tries to tempt and eat young Mowgli. Evil Loki and Kaa being friends is a no-brainer, especially because Loki knows how to turn into a snake, and seeing two evil snakes slithering around would be quite the visual.

In addition to their physical appearance, Kaa is obsessed with eating Mowgli and tries to manipulate the youngster, which Loki constantly was doing in Phase 1 of the MCU.

2 Loki & Fredo Corleone Betrayed Their Brothers Because They Felt Overshadowed

Siblings feeling overshadowed by each other is a common occurrence in any family, but going as far as to betray your family because of it is ludicrous. Fredo Corleone does this to his brother Michael and is one of the biggest villains throughout The Godfather: Part 2 and the franchise in general. Loki is similar in Phase 1 of the MCU, even saying to Thor in The Avengers that he remembers living in his brother's shadow and being thrown into the literal void of space.

Phase 1 Loki and Fredo would make quite the weasely team, mostly because they would hurt their own brothers just because of their jealousy and they weren't very respected in their families. Fredo was more of a joke but he still betrayed Michael, just as Loki did to Thor on more than one occasion.

1 Scar And Loki Both Wanted To Be King And Would Hurt Their Brothers To Reign

Loki and Scar from The Lion King stories are eerily similar to each other, mainly because they both wanted to be King and would even kill their brothers to get the crown. Scar is jealous of Mufasa and is constantly disobeying his brother, which upsets Mufasa because he loves his brother.

On the other hand, Loki is constantly betraying Thor to benefit himself, which hurts because he loves Loki as well. Loki never killed Thor but he tried several times early on in the MCU and Scar actually did kill his brother during the stampede, so evil Loki and Scar would make for a sadistic and scary pairing.
