When it comes to making friends in the Star Wars universe, Darth Maul is generally at the bottom of the list. He's a pretty arrogant guy and is so focused on building his own dark criminal empire that he really doesn't have time for friends. Not that anyone wants to spend time with him if he did.
All of that being said, Maul might have better luck making friends if he tried greener pastures. There are a variety of characters from various animated series who would enjoy spending time around him, if only because Maul might be able to help them with their own plans.
10 Maul Might Be Taken With Pinky
"They're Pinky and the Brain. One is a genius and the other's insane." And Pinky definitely isn't the genius. These two lab mice spent every evening trying to take over the world, only to fail miserably every time. Honestly, Pinky would have probably been happier on his wheel.
Maul isn't really known for having a lot of soft spots. The guy is an unrelenting killing machine who operates by his own set of rules. But Pinky is so earnest and endearing that he might break through Maul's tough exterior. The Brain would just drive Maul past the point of no return.
9 Shredder And Maul Would Have A Mutual Respect
Few enemies vexed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the way Shredder did. This master martial artist is one of the most superb fighters in his world. He was always able to outmatch the Turtles on his own. But his devious mind should never be underestimated.
In truth, Maul and Shredder have a lot in common. They're both brilliant warriors and master strategists. In each other, they would find an ally they could trust and maybe even someone they could rely on. Well, until one of them betrayed the other, at least.
8 Cartman Might Be Too Evil For Maul
If South Park has an evil genius, it's Eric Cartman. Don't mistake that to mean that Cartman is particularly smart. In fact, he's quite possibly the dumbest character in the series. But when it comes to being evil, no one outsmarts Eric.
The irony is that Maul and Cartman would actually work well together. It would be like the time Eric was friends with Chthulu, except Maul wouldn't carry him around. If he shows any Force sensitivity at all, Cartman would be a happy and willing Sith Apprentice for Maul.
7 Ice King And Maul Would Wreak Havoc
When Adventure Time first started, the main villain was the Ice King. But as his backstory came more and more into focus, he became an increasingly sympathetic character. Eventually, he was almost a hero and often fought alongside Finn and Jake.
The Ice King's powers were formidable, to say the least. Maul often sides with people of extreme power and he would certainly see that in Ice King. On top of that, Ice King would be easy for him to manipulate. And for Maul, that's the sign of a best friend.
6 Bender Would Try To Get Maul To Drink With Him
Bender Bending Rodriguez on Futurama is an interesting study being a bad good guy. He often does the right thing because Fry and Leela make him, which is often against his own programming. At the same time, the robot just wants to drink, smoke cigars, and steal anything that isn't nailed down.
While he's more of a petty thief than a Sith Lord, it's not hard to imagine Bender and Maul hitting it off. Maul isn't usually a big fan of droids but a robot like Bender would likely be a different story.
5 Archer Would Be Fascinated By Maul
Sterling Archer considers himself to be the greatest super spy in the world. And when he's in action, it's hard to argue that point. His bravado, womanizing, and alcoholism tend to overshadow the truth which is that he's actually good at his job.
If Maul ever crossed paths with Archer, the spy would be absolutely infatuated with him. It would be like the first time that Sterling met Babou, Cheryl's pet ocelot. Archer adored him much like he would Maul, another menacing and annoying creature.
4 Korra And Maul Would Make A Dynamic Duo
During her studies to be the next Avatar, Korra mastered three of the four elements with relative ease. But Air gave her a hard time as did learning about the spiritual aspects of her powers. Once she put it all together, Korra was an unstoppable force of nature.
If there's one thing Maul respects, it's power, which is something Korra has in spades. Korra might not appreciate his nefarious leanings but her friendship may have steered him in the right direction. This would be, without question, an interesting partnership.
3 Rick Could Be Too Much For Maul
If anyone could lay claim to being the smartest man in the universe, it's Rick Sanchez. And to date, no one has credibly been able to challenge the title. What makes Rick interesting is that he doesn't subscribe to concepts like good or evil. He just does what he does because he does it.
That being said, Rick is definitely not a hero. If he suddenly popped up in the Star Wars universe, he would be more likely to side with Maul than with the Jedi or the Sith. Maul is an anarchist at his core, and Rick would love that.
2 SpongeBob And Maul Would Be Best Friends
It seems strange to suggest that SpongeBob and Maul could form any sort of friendship. SpongeBob SquarePants is not powerful, feared, or any sort of warrior, all things that Maul actually respects. And he is completely undisciplined, which Maul certainly does not respect.
But SpongeBob is a force of chaos and anarchy, even though he often doesn't intend to be. Rather than Plankton or Squidward, Maul would find himself drawn to SpongeBob. He could honestly just let the little guy walk around Coruscant and the place would accidentally burn to the ground.
1 Maul Might Feel A Kinship With Wile E. Coyote
More than anyone else in the history of cartoons, Wile. E Coyote's life has been defined by complete and utter failure. His attempts to capture the Road Runner end in his destruction, often because ACME products let him down. But his plans are frequently quite terrible, as well.
Maul is the Star Wars universe's equivalent of Wile E. Coyote. Every time he tries to pull a plan together, everything falls apart. He was killed a couple of times, lost his Sith internship with Palpatine, and lost Mandalore twice. Maul and Wile E. would bond over their respective failures.
