The Last of Us Part II Gets Cute with Sackboy Make Over | CBR

Sackboy: A Big Adventure, an adorable platformer dedicated to Little Big Planet's mascot, puts an adorable spin on The Last of Us Part II.

The image, shared by PlayStation UK, shows off Abby and Ellie, the protagonists of The Last of Us Part II, as Sackboy-inspired costumes. While the stitched together outfits are cute, the attention to detail is impressive; Ellie's design even sports her cluster of freckles running around what should be her nose.

Both the costumes are coming to Sackboy: A Big Adventure. As the titular character, players can don a variety of unique outfits. The Ellie and Abby designs will be added as a free update for everyone who owns the game. While these costumes look great and allow players to express themselves, they likely won't have any impact on the gameplay, despite the tools displayed in the shared image.

This isn't the first time iconic PlayStation characters have appeared in Sackboy: A Big Adventure. To promote the launch of PlayStation 5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Sony added costumes based on Ratchet, Clank and franchise newcomer Rivet.

A spin-off of the popular Little Big Planet series, Sackboy: A Big Adventure tasks players with stopping the villainous Vex, a monster who's destroying Craftworld to build his powerful Topsy Turver machine. As Sackboy, players will undergo a colorful journey through a variety of lands, solving simple puzzles and completing platforming challenges. The game features the vocal talents of Dawn French and Richard E. Grant.

The Last of Us Part II couldn't be more different to Sackboy. The stealth-action game features a heartbreaking narrative, terrifying world and brutal combat. It earned almost universal praise for its compelling writing, level design and impactful characters.

Abby and Ellie will join Sackboy: A Big Adventure on Sept. 26. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5The Last of Us Part II is only available on PS4 but can be played on Sony's newer console via backwards compatibility.
