There are plenty of anime siblings who share powers or both can fight using magic or physical prowess. On the other hand, there are also some sibling duos in which one sibling has power that the other never gets to wield. Unfortunately, anime magic systems are not always fair, and the power is not distributed equally.
Thus, the powerless sibling is limited in their ability to keep up with their superpowered sibling as a typical human being, while the other can achieve lofty goals. It might not always feel fair, but some anime siblings find a way to make it work even without any superpowers.
10 Katara Is A Waterbending Master, But Sokka Has No Bending In Avatar: The Last Airbender
Katara was the Souther Water tribe's last waterbender, but her brother was not born with the same power. His sister's power was rivaled by few. She was a great healer, a bloodbender, and a master of most other forms of waterbending.
This did not stop Sokka, though, as he became a great swordsman and an accomplished warrior. He came up with many of the plans Team Avatar used to beat the Fire Nation, and he orchestrated all of these attacks while still only being a teenager.
9 Hyakkimaru Can See Demons, But Tahomaru Cannot In Dororo
Hyakkimaru's powers came from a pact his father, Lord Daigo, made with demons that subsequently stole a bunch of Hyakkimaru's body parts. So, in many ways, Tahomaru came out of that deal better off, but he died at the hands of his older brother, who was able to see and kill demons.
Much of Hyakkimaru's success came from his sheer power of will and his swordsmanship. Even Tahomaru could not keep up, but at the end of the day, Hyakkimaru's relationship with the demonic gave him an edge when it came to fighting them.
8 In Bleach, Ichigo and Karin Are Soul Reapers, But Yuzu Lives A Normal Life
Since his father was a Soul Reaper, Ichigo Kurosaki became a very powerful Soul Reaper and fought one of the most sinister and powerful villains in anime, Sousuke Aizen. Eventually, one of his two sisters, Karin, began to show promise as a fighter, and since she could also see spirits, it was not out of the realm of possibility for her powers to grow to match Ichigo's.
Yuzu, on the other hand, can only see spirits as blurs, and she seems to enjoy domestic life as opposed to fighting, like her athletic sister.
7 Usagi's Brother Is More Annoying Than Helpful In Sailor Moon
Usagi Tsukino has a younger brother who, for the most part, just causes trouble for her and Luna. Shingo Tsukino does not make too much of an appearance, especially in the anime, but he does get wrapped up in the Sailor Senshi shenanigans on occasion. The two have a minimal relationship, with Shingo primarily antagonizing Usagi and vice versa, as siblings tend to do when they are young and immature.
Shingo doesn't know Usagi is actually Sailor Moon, which Usagi uses to her advantage on occasion. For example, after saving him as Sailor Moon, she urges him to be kinder to his sister. Unfortunately, this goes in one ear and out the other.
6 Mai Zenin May Have Cursed Energy, But She Cannot Fight Maki In Jujutsu Kaisen
Mai Zenin was part of an incredibly powerful and influential Jujutsu Sorcerer family, the Zenin clan, and she was twins with Maki, who unfortunately could not see curses. Even though Maki didn't possess the Cursed Energy that Mai did, Maki wasn't going to give up being a sorcerer.
Maki trained to keep up with the others despite her inabilities. She mastered weaponry and fighting, and she found a workaround for seeing spirits. Eventually, she surpassed many of her peers.
5 In Demon Slayer, Tanjiro And Nezuko's Siblings May have Been Saved If They Had Powers
Tanjiro only discovered his powers, including his swordsmanship and super smell, when meeting the Demon Slayer Corps, and Nezuko may have remained powerless if she had not been turned into a demon. Their siblings were powerless, and they were too young to have learned how to defend themselves properly.
Fans will likely never know what Tanjiro and Nezuko's younger siblings could have done if they were able to join the Demon Slayer Corps. If Muzan had never intervened, they would not have any demonic ties and likely no reason to awaken any innate powers in the first place.
4 Orihime's Brother Didn't Have The Same Magical Protection As Her In Bleach
Orihime can join many of the adventures in Bleach thanks to the Shun Shun Rikka. She wears a hairpin that can summon six fairy-like beings out to protect her. One of them can even make attacks. The others focus more on defense and healing abilities.
Orihime's beloved brother, Sora, had given her the hairpin that eventually became a conduit for her power. He passed away after a car accident and became a Hollow named Acidwire, and he was eventually purified. However, he had no powers before dying and becoming a Hollow.
3 Yukio Did Not Inherit Any Of Satan's Power Like Rin In Blue Exorcist
Yukio has many of the powers that an exorcist has, but he did not gain the powers of Satan, as he was originally supposed to do. All of that power went to his twin, Rin. He does not have the Blue Flames, but he became an accomplished exorcist at an early age.
Later, he does get a demon form, and he is resistant to the demonic flames that his brother inherited. However, he does not have the "power" of the demonic realm in a significant sense.
2 Hiyori Iki's Brother Can Sense Spirits, But That Is About It In Noragami
When Hiyori Iki gains her abilities, which include things like astral projection and super-spirit strength, she does so after a terrible accident. This allows her to meet Yato and Yukine and learn about the world of the Far Shore.
Her brother, Masaomi Iki, on the other hand, lacks any of these supernatural abilities. He has a heightened sense of the spirits around him and a distant connection with the Far Shore, but he does not have any powers in a real sense.

Alex Louis Armstrong is the buff-bodied alchemist and military officer of the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise. As an alchemist, there are many magical things he can do. He has four sisters, some of whom have natural skills, like Olivier Mira Armstrong's excellent swordsmanship, while others take on a civilian role.
Olivier can stand her ground against some of the homunculi like Sloth, and Catherine Elle Armstrong, the youngest sibling, could throw a piano at someone in a fit of terror, but none of them have powers like Alex Louis.
