Fortnite Leak All But Confirms Naruto's Introduction | CBR

A string of leaks suggests that Naruto Uzumaki may be joining Epic GamesFortnite in the near future.

As discovered by reputable Fortnite leaker @HYPEX on Twitter, a recent update saw the inclusion of two new Creative coins. One appears to be a traditional scroll, not unlike the parchments seen throughout the Naruto manga and anime, and more decisively, a bowl of ramen. The layout of the asset appears identical to the titular ninja's favorite food. Both of the Creative coins were added to the game's infrastructure through update v18.30, so while they may not be available just yet, they will likely come to the fore soon.

The assets are loaded as Creative coins, which suggests that players who purchase Naruto will be able to complete a series of challenges to unlock further goodies. While Epic Games has yet to speak on the character's inclusion the popularity of the Shonen anime and manga, suggest that Naruto will not be added as a free update. Some players have speculated that the ninja will be added as part of a future battle pass, much like Superman or Carnage.

This leak is the latest in a series of discoveries pointing to Naruto's addition to Fortnite. @HYPEX recently shared stats on a "Mythic Explosive Kunai," a weapon that's become symbolic of the franchise. Further datamining has uncovered that an NPC codenamed "HeadbandK" will soon arrive on the Island; while more general than the previous two leaks, Naruto's most common and recognizable design includes a headband.

In July 2021, Fortnite leaker Twea posted a report that Epic Games was collaborating with Shueisha, a publishing company that holds the rights to numerous Shonen Jump series. The deal would open up opportunities to include characters from hit anime like Dragon Ball, One Piece, My Hero AcademiaDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and, of course, Naruto. Epic Games has yet to announce any such crossover cosmetics.

Fortnite is widely known for its inclusion of popular characters pulled from a variety of sources. Stranger Things, God of War, Street Fighter, The Walking Deadand John Wick are all represented in the game. Epic Games has also conducted significant deals with the likes of Marvel Comics and DC Comics, resulting in entire seasons of superhero-themed cosmetics and even a Fortnite/Batman graphic novel.
