My Hero Academia: 10 Most Dangerous Emitter Quirks, Ranked | CBR

As important as Quirks are in the world of My Hero Academia, not all of them are viewed the same way. Separated in three categories — emitter Quirks, mutant Quirks, and transformation Quirks — these abilities aren't always ranked by their utility, but also by their flashiness.

Emitter Quirks as easily the most popular. Whether they are heroes or not, characters who have emitter Quirks don't have to deal with the discrimination mutant Quirk users have to handle. As flashy and popular as these skills are in My Hero Academia, Emitter Quirks can also be very dangerous.

10 Explosion Gives Katsuki Bakugou A Dangerous Sense Of Superiority

From the very beginning of the series, Katsuki Bakugou's Explosion is identified as incredible and heroic. That is in no small measure because of its flashiness. But the Quirk itself is very powerful, and Katsuki's training, battle sense, and excellent technique have made it more so.

Explosion is also a highly dangerous Quirk, and Katsuki hasn't always taken that into account. He has used his power on numerous occasions to bully his former friend, Izuku Midoriya. Since starting his studies at U.A., their relationship has improved, but that doesn't change the problem. Perhaps the biggest danger of Bakugo having a Quirk like Explosion is not understanding that he isn't actually better than everyone else.

9  Twice's Double Can Take Out Small Countries

Jin Bubaigawara's Quirk, Double, is one of the League of Villains' most powerful weapons. He can create clones of anyone, as long as he has their measurements. The clones have the personalities and Quirks of the originals but can only take a limited amount of damage before they fall apart.

At first, Twice struggles with mental health issues that limit the use of his Quirk. Traumatized in a Quirk-related accident, he is reluctant to use his Quirk on himself and can only create two clones at a time. He overcomes this during the battle with the Meta Liberation Army, and his Sad Man's Parade move is truly a terrifying sight to behold.

8 Endeavor's Hellflame Burns Straight Through Nomu

The current Number One Hero Endeavor is the only person who ever dared to challenge All Might in his prime. Against any other hero, he would have undoubtedly prevailed. While he may have been an abusive parent and husband, Endeavor's work as a hero is beyond reproach and his mastery over his Quirk is impeccable.

That doesn't make Hellflame any less dangerous. Endeavor has obliterated buildings with his Hell Spider move and burned nomu into a crisp. There is one disadvantage. In prolonged battles, he can overheat. This is the reason why he chooses to marry Rei, hoping her ice Quirk would give him the perfect heir who could defeat All Might.

7 Shoto's Half-Cold, Half Hot Is Far More Dangerous Than Hellflame

The product of Endeavor's Quirk marriage with Rei, Shoto receives a mixed Quirk that seems to give him the best of both worlds. He is able to wield both fire and ice. Shoto's main problem is that his resentment of his father made him reject his fire side, which now leaves him with a somewhat unbalanced Quirk. Putting aside Shoto's issues, the Quirk itself is incredible.

Half Cold, Half Hot has a lot of firepower with very few drawbacks. During the U.S.J. attack, Shoto freezes the villains who attack him and makes a comment about the possibility of their cells dying. He easily destroys the Zero Pointers that gave other students of 1-A so much trouble. After Izuku Midoriya confronts him during the U.A. Sports Tournament, he has an epiphany and is now learning to hone his pyrokinesis as well. Once he truly masters his Quirk, Shoto will undoubtedly be even more dangerous than his father.

6 Cremation Burns Hotter Than Any Other Fire Quirk

Endeavor's son, Touya Todoroki's Cremation burns hotter than any other fire Quirk. It doesn't help that his body isn't suited to it, as he has inherited his mother's ice resistance, not his father's resilience to fire. Between these factors and Endeavor's obsession with defeating All Might, the tragic accident that turned Touya into Dabi isn't that surprising. Neither is Dabi's tendency to turn everyone who annoys him into ash. He may be in pain, but his desire for revenge is stronger.

5 Rewind Can Wipe People Out Of Existence

Eri's Quirk, Rewind, is capable of reverting bodies to their previous state. Despite being an emitter Quirk, Rewind is actually the result of an extremely rare mutation. According to Overhaul, it even has the potential to overwrite genetics. While she is young and untrained, Eri has used her Quirk during the battle with Overhaul, allowing Deku to channel the full power of One for All without doing permanent damage to himself.

Rewind is incredibly dangerous, however, and caused Eri to erase her father out of existence and would have done something similar to Deku if Eraserhead hadn't intervened. Rewind feeds from an unknown resource and goes dormant in its absence, but while it is in use, it's a good idea to be wary.

4 Overhaul Can Do Tremendous Amounts Of Damage In Very Little Time

One of the most terrifying villains in the anime, Kai Chisaki can use his Quirk Overhaul to disassemble and reassemble matter with his bare hands. Outside of combat, he uses this Quirk to collect Eri's blood, which he ultimately turns into his Quirk-erasing bullets. Beyond that, Overhaul seems optimized for destruction, as evidenced by Magne and Sir Nighteye's deaths. Chisaki is also able to fuse with other Quirk users, monstrously modifying his body, but expanding his abilities at the same time. It takes Eri and Izuku's combined powers to defeat him.

3 Decay Has Awakened Into A Truly Monstrous Quirk

From the very beginning, Tomura Shigaraki's Decay has been noted as incredibly dangerous. He seriously injures Shota Aizawa at the U.S.J. and almost kills Tsuyu Asui. It is later revealed that when the Quirk first manifested, he killed his whole family, including the family dog. After the battle with the Meta Liberation Army, the Quirk has become even more powerful. Decay spreads like a virus, affecting everything that's connected to the object he's in contact with. Once he takes up All for One, it becomes even more deadly and dangerous.

2 One For All Is A Unique Quirk With A Deadly Downside

The Symbol of Peace All Might's Quirk, One for All is unique in that it isn't a power that appears genetically and is passed on to chosen successors who cultivate it further. The core of the Quirk is a stockpiling ability, but Izuku Midoriya discovers it actually contains copies of the quirks of all its previous wielders. One for All doesn't come without disadvantages, however.

When inherited by a successor with a preexisting Quirk, One for All burns out the individual in question. Quirkless people like All Might or Deku are immune to this side-effect. Mastering the quirk still isn't easy, and Deku in particular has had trouble with it. On one occasion, he lost control of Blackwhip, almost hurting his classmates in the process. One for All is one Quirk that is very dangerous for both its user and their opponent.

1 All For One's Power Is Almost Impossible To Beat

One for All exists for a simple purpose — to act as an opposing force for All for One. Using his ability, the villainous All for One can steal the Quirks of others. Granted, a stolen Quirk isn't necessarily as efficient in All for One's hands as it was when used by its previous owner, which is why he refrains from stealing abilities that require high finesse and technique.

Additionally, a user of All for One will have trouble sustaining too many Quirks. Their body will start to shut down under the strain, much like in the case of One for All. Even so, All for One is easily the most dangerous emitter Quirk in the world of My Hero Academia. All for One breeds a hunger for power, and is an unstoppable weapon.
