Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy lets players customize the heroes with various outfits, and those who want to dress up Groot have eight options. Two of these are automatically given to players, while the other six are hidden throughout the game. This guide will show players where to find each outfit. Players do not need to worry about missing any of Groot's bonus outfits in a single playthrough, since none of his are gated behind player choices.
Many of the outfits in Guardians of the Galaxy come in sets, so each team member will have a matching outfit. For example, every Guardian has a Nova Corps look, a throwback to the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy movie and an Apocalypse Guardian variant. All of the outfits are credited to their original source material, so players can see where an outfit came from and who originally designed it.

Players can find Groot's Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) outfit in Chapter One. After Rocket and Star-Lord release the entity from the gem they find, they will be reunited with Groot. Before following Rocket and Groot, take a right. Peter will find a small hole in the wall that he can crawl through. Groot's movie outfit is in a chest inside.
Players can find Groot's Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse outfit in Chapter Three. When the Guardians are trying to get over the cliffs after fighting Stumpy again, Groot will make a bridge. Peter will find one path blocked by a destructible nest, while the other leads to blockage Gamora can cut. Destroy the nest and use Peter's elemental guns to freeze the water spouts. At the top of the climb is Groot's Apocalypse outfit.
Players can find Groot's Nova Corps outfit in Chapter Five. After the Guardians have met the Converted and are trying to escape from the Rock, they will eventually find themselves in a room with a scissor lift leading to the only way out. Continue past the lift and look behind the nearby machinery to the right to find Groot's Nova Corps outfit.
Players can find Groot's Annihilation: Conquest outfit in Chapter 10. When Groot reveals his bio-luminescence, players will have to walk through an open area guided only by Groot's light in order to find the way out. Stick to the right side of the map and Peter will find an opening leading to the Annihilation: Conquest outfit.
Players can find Groot's Impaler outfit in Chapter 12. On the way to Cosmo's, the Guardians will pause in front of a large metal sheet that Peter and Drax can move. To the left is a platform pointing to a wind elemental gun target. Destroying it will reveal a bridge ledge. Groot can extend a bridge so the Guardians can cross over. Peter will need to destroy a panel above the locked door at the end of the tunnel to power it, then Rocket will need to disable the electrical flow in the next room so Peter can freely walk around the area. Once the electrical current is gone, players can retrieve Groot's outfit.
Players can find Groot's Five O'Clock Sprouts outfit in Chapter 13. Groot will make a bridge across a gap while the team is discussing whether or not the legendary Fin Fang Foom would claw hunters from the back. After sidling across the ledge, take a right to find Groot's new outfit in a nook.
Players automatically receive Groot's Golden Guardians outfit during Chapter 14. Each of the Guardians receives a new look to finish the game in style.
