Spider-Man Fans Want Lil Nas X as Miles Morales Following Photo With Holland, Garfield

Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland, Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield and rapper Lil Nas X appeared in a photo together recently and it has inspired superhero fans all over. They want Lil Nas X to play Miles Morales.

On social media, the photo was met with a range of comments, all supporting Lil Nas X for the role, whenever Marvel Studios chooses to bring him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans shared a plethora of photos comparing the variations of Miles and Nil Nas X, along with theories concerning how the MCU could introduce him. Interestingly, not all of them related to Tom Holland's Peter Parker and took full advantage of the Multiverse concept that the franchise is currently exploring. Lil Nas X himself responded to the outpour of support by jokingly tweeting, "The rumors are true i [sic] will be playing miles morales."

Marvel Studios has made no announcements concerning Miles Morales in any of its upcoming films. However, a member of Morales' family did appear briefly in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Aaron Davis made an appearance in the 2017 film, played by Donald Glover. In the comics, Aaron Davis is uncle to Miles Morales. He's also the supervillain known as The Prowler. However, Spider-Man: Homecoming did not depict him as a supervillain.

Audience attention is currently on the prospect of Garfield and Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire returning as their respective versions of the web-slinger in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home. Garfield has consistently denied his involvement in the film, despite reportedly leaked images and behind-the-scenes clips featuring both him and Maguire. The authenticity of both the behind-the-scenes clip and leaked photo have been called into question, with some suggesting the clip was deepfaked and the image photoshopped.

The most recent trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has stoked rumors due to what appears to be an edit removing an unknown figure from the clip, evidenced by the Lizard being struck by an invisible force. Many viewers believe this to be an absent Spider-Man who will appear in the released film.

While the superheroes' appearances cannot be confirmed, it has been revealed that supervillains from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and the Amazing Spider-Man films will be returning in some form. These include Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Rhys Ifans Lizard, Thomas Haden Church's Sandman, Jamie Foxx's Electro and another mysterious third Goblin.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 17.
