Following the official reveal of the Spider-Man: No Way Home poster, fans are becoming increasingly excited at the potential inclusion of Sandman and Electro.
The poster, which was unveiled on Twitter, features Spider-Man perched in a battle-ready stance while Doctor Octopus' robotic arms swarm the foreground. In the background, eagle-eyed fans can make out what appears to be the Green Goblin, seemingly sporting attire reminiscent of his appearance in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. Yet while those two villains were already enough to build the hype for No Way Home, fans didn't stop there. Many are insisting that Electro and Sandman also appear in the image, albeit in forms that capture their essence rather than outwardly display their inclusion.
The poster, which contains strings of lightning and what seem to be strains of sand forming in bizarre shapes, does further confirm that both Sandman and Electro will appear in the film. Thomas Haden Church was recently confirmed to appear in No Way Home as Sandman thanks to an article in Empire, which also noted the return of Rhys Ifans as The Lizard, who doesn't appear in the poster.
While these iconic Spider-Man villains continue to cause speculation on social media, some fans are expressing disappointment that the poster only includes Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Rumors have spread for months that No Way Home may feature a multiversal crossover that will see Tobey Macguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their roles as Peter Parker. Several leaks suggest this may be the case but both actors have denied their participation in the film.
Spider-Man: No Way Home releases in theatres Dec. 17.
