The Expanse Prepares for War in Final-Season Trailer | CBR

Prime Video released a new trailer for the sixth and final season of The Expanse.

The trailer features a new look at the impending season, which, according to Amazon, sees "Holden and the crew of the Rocinante fight alongside the Combined Fleet of Earth and Mars to protect the Inner Planets from Marco Inaros and his Free Navy’s campaign of death and destruction. Meanwhile, on a distant planet beyond the Rings, a new power rises."

"From the moment we committed to bringing this show to life up until this final season, we have worked tirelessly to honor the vision of the writers," executive producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson said in November 2020 when it was announced that The Expanse would end with Season 6. "We have prided ourselves on having one of the most diverse casts on television and giving a platform to stories that matter. A special thanks to Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, the writers of both the books and series, and to [showrunner] Naren Shankar, the series showrunner and Executive Producer. It continues to be an honor and privilege to work with this team. We also would like to thank Amazon for their continuing support to help us tell this story in its fullest and to bring The Expanse to a global audience."

At New York Comic Con, stars Wes Chatham and Steve Strait described the final season of The Expanse as an ode to the fans, with Chatham saying, "Season 6 is basically a love letter to all of you because it's the biggest and best thing that we have done to this point, and we are so excited to be able to share it with you guys and cap off the relationship that we've had together."

"We wouldn't have been able to finish this story without you [the fans]," Strait added. "We are so deeply grateful for all of you, I mean, you allowed us to finish this story, and that has meant the world to me and us and just thank you, thank you very much."

Season 6 of The Expanse premieres Dec. 10 on Prime Video.
