ABLAZE Publishing has launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Nightcrawlers, an all-ages original graphic novel from Eisner Award-winning writer Marco Lopez and up-and-coming artist Rachel Distler.
ABLAZE's campaign for The Nightcrawlers is currently live on Zoop with a goal of $6,000 USD. Numerous pledge rewards, add-ons and stretch goals are available. At the time of writing, the OGN has raised $1,877 from 54 backers. The campaign is slated to last through Friday, Dec. 10. Should it prove successful, the plan is to get the comic to the printers by spring 2022 and begin shipping out rewards in the summer.
Described as a "6x9 digest-sized hardcover graphic novel for ages 8 and up," the first volume of The Nightcrawlers promises to appeal to fans of properties like Goosebumps, The Goonies and Monster Squad. The adventure comic follows "a group of supernatural kid detectives" who "take on their first case when a friend from school believes werewolves replaced his parents."

If you think aliens replaced your teachers or your neighbor might be a vampire, then there's only one group to call for help: The Nightcrawlers.
The Nightcrawlers take on their first case when a friend from school believes werewolves replaced his parents. They get more than they bargained for when their investigation leads them right in the middle of a confrontation between their caretaker William Jones and a former Nightcrawler out for revenge. This story is about the unlikeliest group of friends coming together to help others…with a spooky twist!

"This is a graphic novel series with heart that kids have been wanting and kids at heart need."
"The Nightcrawlers is a real work of love for fans of stuff like The Goonies, old Vincent Price/Peter Cushing movies, and a love of urban legends and myths that we stayed up late to as kids," added Distler. "Basically, we wanted to share that love in a way I think everyone will enjoy, with a cast of friends who remind us of who we knew growing up, with mysteries to explore, in an imaginative setting.
