Attack On Titan: 10 Things About The Series Manga Readers Know That Anime-Only Fans Don't

Attack on Titan is one of the most popular manga and anime ever. Unfortunately, for fans of both adaptations, the series is ending soon. The final chapter of the manga is set to release on April 9th. As there have only been 16 episodes confirmed for season 4 of the anime, it seems that the TV series will come to a close at around the same time.

Though both adaptations are ending, the manga is far ahead of the anime and there are a lot of things that anime-only fans have yet to find out. Here are some of the major events that they can look forward to that the manga readers are already aware of.

10 Levi Had A Rematch Against Zeke The Beast Titan

Nearly every character in the series has many enemies. Levi and Zeke have been fighting against each other since they met. Levi had always followed Erwin's orders since dedicating his heart to helping the Survey Corps. His final order was to kill the Beast Titan, as he and most of the soldiers served as a deadly distraction. Zeke retreated before Levi could kill him, and the two hadn't seen each other in a long time. A rematch between Paradis' strongest soldier and the Beast Titan will be coming to the anime soon.

9 Eren Worked With Zeke Despite Having Different Beliefs

After learning that Zeke was his brother, Eren began working with him. The two gained many followers, known as the Yeagerists, who believe that Zeke and Eren will be able to save the Eldians. As Zeke is from the royal family and Eren is the inheritor of the Founding Titan, they are an unstoppable force as long as they can get in contact with one another. However, though the two need each other to fulfill their goals, their beliefs contradict each other. Zeke wants to change the bodies of all Eldians to prevent them from having children so that they will no longer be born into a world that hates them. Eren, on the other hand, wants to attack the world and ensure that the Eldians can live in peace. The two may be brothers, but they are not a happy family.

8 Historia Is Pregnant & The Father Is Still Unknown

Historia had a very rough childhood. Her mother didn't love her, she was constantly abused and forced to do chores, and she didn't even know her father nor the fact that she was part of the royal family.

As a kid, she was bullied by a boy that threw rocks at her. He ended up working at her orphanage years later. She got pregnant and is about to give birth. Though it is believed that the boy that threw rocks at her is the father, many fans think that the child is actually Eren's.

7 Eren Takes Control Of Paradis

After Eren and Zeke return to Paradis, Hange and Levi keep a close eye on them, not having any trust in the Yeagers. Little did they know that the Yeagerists had their own ideas and fought against the government and military under Eren's command. With Floch and many other Eldians seeing Eren as their rightful ruler, they turned their backs on the Eldians that disagreed with them, resulting in another uprising.

6 Eren Controlled Grisha When Looking Back At His Memories

Upon Zeke finding out that Eren didn't agree with his plan, he tried to show his younger brother how their father brainwashed him. As they traveled through Grisha's memories from the time that Eren was born, Zeke was shocked to find out that Eren was always the rebellious person that hated the world around him and that Grisha didn't manipulate him. However, once the two got to the memory of when Grisha attacked the Reiss family, the two were surprised to find out that Grisha hesitated to kill them. Eren was able to communicate with his father and told them to take the Founding Titan for himself and kill the royal family. Eren was responsible for everything that happened from that moment forward.

5 Eren Sets Off The Rumbling With Other Titans

With Eren's goal becoming a reality, he unhardened the walls and used the Colossal Titans inside of them to begin the Rumbling. This has been the greatest attack in the entire series as the whole world, except for Paradis, is in grave danger.

Just as Bertholdt's Colossal Titan kicked down the wall surrounding Shiganshina, the Colossal Titans controlled by Eren stomp on everyone that posed a threat to Paradis. The main protagonist of the series has become one of the best villains ever written.

4 Annie Got Out Of The Crystal & Reunited With Hitch

Just as Eren had unhardened the walls, he also destroyed the crystal that Annie trapped herself in years prior. Fans had wondered for a long time when, if, and how she would return, not knowing if they would ever see the Female Titan again. Hitch, her former roommate, was the first to find her. Annie told Hitch about the life she really lived and why she attacked the Eldians.

3 The Warriors & Soldiers Join Forces Against Eren

Shortly after speaking with Hitch, Annie found her former comrades and decided to help them stop Eren. Enemies that were fighting each other moments before Eren began the Rumbling were now helping each other. Annie, Armin, Connie, Jean, Reiner, Gabi, Falco, Mikasa, Levi, Hange, Theo, and Pieck were all on the same side for once as they chased the Rumbling in hopes that they could convince Eren not to take any more lives. However, after he refused to stop, they knew that they would all have to fight him if they had any chance of saving the world.

2 There Is An Afterlife Where The Fallen Survey Corps Members Exist

In order to let the others escape, Hange made the ultimate sacrifice by fighting the Colossal Titans on her own and dying. Before she went into battle, she told Armin that he was the new commander of the Survey Corps, having faith in the young man that she once wanted to let die in order to save Erwin. Upon dying, Hange woke up to find the commander before her, along with all of the other Survey Corps members that passed, standing with her. Erwin let Hange know that her sacrifice really did mean something as her comrades were safe.

1 The Flying Titan Made An Appearance

Around the time that Zeke and Eren made contact, Falco ate Porco and inherited the Jaw Titan. However, since he had Zeke's spinal fluid in his body, he also possessed characteristics of the Beast Titan. Two things that were subtly hinted at throughout the series was that the inheritors of the Beast Titan did not all take the form of the same animal and that a titan that could fly would eventually be shown. Having memories of a former inheritor of the Beast Titan, Falco believed that he could fly. By doing so, he was able to save Marley's Warrior Unit and the Survey Corps as they nearly fell to their deaths in the battle against Eren.
