The world of Naruto has some incredibly powerful characters most of which rely on their Jutsu to make them a threat in battle. However, there some characters who instead rely on kenjutsu, also known as swordplay. These characters are tremendously skilled, capable of cutting through nearly anything with their blades. To boost their swordplay even further, they usually rely on using other Jutsu along with their swordplay.

Although rare, they're a force to be reckoned with, and with their swordplay, some of them have gone on to reach incredible heights in the story.

10 Zabuza Momochi Could Keep Up With Most Enemies

One of the very first villains in the Naruto series, Zabuza belonged to the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist and he wielded the famous Kubikiribocho. His skill with the sword was excellent and even surprised Kakashi Hatake, a full-fledged Jonin.

Zabuza could keep up with most enemies with ease and his ferocious swordplay earned him the moniker of "The Demon of the Mist." Undoubtedly, he's one of the greatest blade users in Naruto.

9 Darui Could Keep Up With Kinshiki Otsutsuki

Darui was a Jonin from Kumogakure during the Fourth Great Ninja War and he went on to become the Fifth Raikage of the village, following Ay the Fourth. In terms of swordplay, Darui is extremely skilled which was seen when he clashed with the like of Kinkaku and Ginkaku.

Although he doesn't wield a named blade, his skill with a sword is good enough to keep up with Kinshiki Otsutsuki to some extent, which is extremely impressive.

8 Kakashi Hatake Could Wield The Kubikiribocho Without Any Trouble

Konoha's Copy Ninja, Kakashi Hatake is an all-around fighter and as expected, his mastery over kenjutsu is amazing as well. As a child, Kakashi used to wield a short sword, called the White Light Chakra Saber, which belonged to Sakumo Hatake.

Growing up, Kakashi's skills with the swords got even better and during the Fourth Great Ninja War, he was able to wield the Kubikiribocho without any trouble whatsoever.

7 Kisame Hoshigaki One Of The Strongest Members Of The Akatsuki

Kisame was a member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist so it was expected of him to be skilled with at least one of them. He was seen wielding the powerful Samehada throughout most of the series.

Kisame was one of the strongest members of the Akatsuki and much of that was down to how good he was with his sword. He was able to keep up with elite Jonin like Might Guy which proves he had excellent mastery over swords.

6 Mangetsu Hozuki Mastered All Seven Swords Present In His Village

Widely known to be one of the strongest among the Mist Swordsmen, Mangetsu was the elder brother of Suigetsu. His skills with swords were known to be tremendous and in his life, he managed to master all seven swords present in his village.

Mangetsu primarily wielded the Hiramekarei, however, he was just as good with the others. Being a famed shinobi, Mangetsu certainly was among the very best in the story.

5 Chojuro Mastered The Hiramekarei

Chojuro is the Sixth Mizukage of Kirigakure and quite an underrated shinobi. Like many other shinobi from Kirigakure, Chojuro was trained in the art of swordplay from a young age and he mastered the Hiramekarei, a sword thought to be the strongest out of all the seven in the Mist.

By adulthood, Chojuro is powerful enough to put up a fight against the likes of Kinshiki Otsutsuki, which very few characters can do, and all that is thanks to his kenjutsu skills.

4 Mifune Took On Hanzo

Mifune is a legendary Samurai in Naruto from the Land of Iron. Although old, he was once a tremendous fighter, capable of taking on Hanzo, who beat all the Legendary Sannin at once with little effort.

Mifune is a wielder of Kurasawa, a legendary meito. Using this sword, Mifune can use techniques such as Issen, which cut at the speed of light, making him a tremendously skilled kenjutsu user.

3 Orochimaru Is A Master Of All Arts

Orochimaru is one of the Legendary Sannin in Naruto and much like Kakashi, he's a ninja who excels at everything. From swordplay to ninjutsu, Orochimaru is a master of all arts. He's one of the very few characters who wield a legendary blade in the Kusanagi sword.

By the Boruto era, Orochimaru seems to have improved his skills even further, as seen when he fought Log. It goes without saying that he's among the very best in the Naruto series.

2 Killer Bee Can Wield Eight Blades At Once

The Jinchūriki of the Eight-Tails, Killer Bee is a terrific swordsman who could use eight blades at once in combat and overwhelm a Mangekyo Sharingan user with ease. His blades are often powered up by lightning style chakra to increase their cutting edge and they could even damage the Kubikiribocho.

What's more, Killer Bee could master two of the seven legendary mist swords on spot, which just goes to show how talented he truly is.

1 Sasuke Uchiha Could Use The Kusanagi Blade In High-Level Battles

The Other Hokage of Konohagakure, Sasuke Uchiha is quite a powerful character and one of the strongest shinobi alive in the story. After his training with Orochimaru, Sasuke's swordplay skills improved massively and he kept getting better as the series progressed.

By adulthood, Sasuke could use his Kusanagi blade in a high-level battle against Kinshiki and Momoshiki Otsutsuki. He's the strongest swordsman in the Naruto series, despite having only one arm.
