Death Note is a series with some epic quotes, and many of those quotes belong to Light Yagami -- a young high school student who finds a notebook that allows him to kill people by just writing their names in it. He uses this power to kill criminals, an act that he believes will eliminate crime and bring about peace, but he eventually develops a God complex and begins using the notebook on non-criminals.
When he learns Madara's full name, he can write a specific death scenario, and it will happen, but he could also just write Madara's name in the book and wait 40 seconds for him to have a fatal heart attack.

The Death Note's power may be absolute, but there are ways to beat it. Madara is one of the strongest characters in Naruto, while Light is just an ordinary human with extremely high intelligence, which means that Madara can take Light out with a simple kunai before he can even write his name in the book; or he could just use one of the many jutsu at his disposal.
Thanks to the Sharingan, Madara can use Izanagi -- a genjutsu that allows the user to negate their own death -- to counter the Death Note, and he can activate it at any time prior to his death.
8 Can Beat Madara: Naraku Could Poison Madara With His Miasma
Naraku is the main villain in Inuyasha, and he was incredibly smart and powerful despite being a half-demon. His body is made up of hundreds of demons, which is why he possesses a multitude of abilities, including enhanced regeneration, speed, and strength, but he can also use demonic curses and create a barrier that can block most attacks.
These abilities would not be enough to take out someone like Madara, but seeing as Madara is human, Naraku's miasma should do the trick. The miasma is actually a very potent demonic poison, and it is so powerful that it is capable of melting the ground.

Madara has faced some pretty powerful opponents, and he has beaten all of them in battle, and the argument can be made that they are all stronger than Naraku. The half-demon may be able to regenerate quickly, but even he cannot heal if his entire body is destroyed.
If Naraku were to go up against Madara's perfect Susanoo, his body would be instantly destroyed by a single sword swing and seeing as one swing can literally change an entire landscape, it'll be strong enough to break through his barrier.
6 Can Beat Madara: Esdeath Can Literally Freeze Time
Akame Ga Kill had some epic battles, and Esdeath was at the center of a few of them. Esdeath possessed the Demon's Extract Imperial Arms which allowed her to create ice out of nothing and manipulate it, which means that she can fling ice spears, create ice shields, and even summon a block of ice the size of a meteor and send it crashing into her enemies.
She has three trump cards up her sleeve, one which allows her to create an army of ice soldiers, and one which allows her to release all of her stored energy, which can then freeze an entire continent solid. Her most effective trump card though is her ability to momentarily freeze time, and it's during this freeze that she can deliver a fatal blow to Madara.
5 Why She Can't: Madara Can Counter Her Multiple Ways
It is true that Esdeath can beat a variety of anime characters, including Madara, but if he's given enough time, he can counter all of her abilities. Madara can use immensely powerful fire-style ninjutsu to melt all of Esdeath's ice before it reaches him, and he can use his Sharingan to dodge any stray projectiles and melee attacks
His Susanoo should be able to protect him from the ice, and if not, it can definitely shatter her ice defenses. Madara would likely get put down if Esdeath does freeze time, but if he is able to use Izanagi while frozen, he'll be able to come back and catch her by surprise.
4 Can Beat Madara: Blackbeard Can Annihilate Madara With His Tremor-Tremor Fruit
There are several anime characters who don't stand a chance against Blackbeard, and that is partly because of the Dark-Dark Fruit, which basically turns him into a black hole with its own gravitational pull. That power can be terrifying, but he also has the powers of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, and it is so powerful that it can destroy the entire world.
This fruit allows its user to generate massive vibrations or shockwaves that can travel through the ground, seafloor, and air. If Blackbeard uses this power, he can destroy Madara's Susanoo, making it completely useless, and if he lands a direct hit on Madara, he will shatter every bone and rupture every organ in the Uchiha's body.
3 Why He Can't: The Dark-Dark Fruit's Major Weakness Can Be Exploited
The Dark-Dark Fruit basically turns its user into a void that devours and crushes anything, and they can absorb physical matter and attacks by sucking them into the darkness. This means that Blackbeard can absorb all of Madara's jutsu, but if the Uchiha realizes the fruit's major weakness, he'll be able to take out Blackbeard with ease.
Unlike other Logia users, Blackbeard maintains a physical form, which means that he can be injured by physical attacks if he does not absorb them in time. If Madara notices this, he can use shadow clones and a substitution jutsu to get behind Blackbeard and stab him with one of his Susanoo's blades.
2 Can Beat Madara: Baraggan Can Cause Madara & His Abilities To Decay
In Bleach, each Espada represents one of the aspects of death, and Baraggan represents old age, which is why he is capable of slowing time and accelerating the aging process of anything and anyone caught within a specific area.
Of all the Espada, Baraggan possesses the best resurrección, as it amplifies his aging ability to the point that he can cause anything around him to rapidly age and turn to dust, and he can release a miasma that ages and rots anything that it comes into contact with. Thanks to this power, all of Madara's jutsu, including his Susanoo, are meaningless because they will "die" before touching Baraggan, and Madara's actual body cannot withstand the accelerated aging.
1 Why He Can't: Madara's Genjutsu Is Similar To Aizen's Power
Even with Izanagi, Madara cannot overcome Baraggan's ability, but he can use more than one type of genjutsu. In Naruto, all genjutsu is illusion-based, and the only way to break free of it is to form a handsign and disrupt the flow of chakra in one's body.
Baraggan doesn't have chakra, so he wouldn't be able to break out of the genjutsu, and Bleach fans already know that Baraggan is susceptible to illusions because that is how Aizen was able to defeat him, and all Madara needs to do is make sure that Baraggan looks him in the eyes.
