With an influx of strong pirates in the New World currently, most of the strong Marines are sailing those seas in an attempt to capture the powerful pirates and send them to Impel Down. Under Sakazuki's reign, the Navy has become far more aggressive in the New World.

10 Vergo

Vergo was one of the main antagonists in One Piece's Punk Hazard arc, which was also the first proper arc in the New World. Although Vergo appeared as a Marine Vice-Admiral, he was actually a member of the Donquixote Pirates undercover in the organization.

Vergo was quite powerful and his Armament Haki was known to be quite good. He was able to fight Smoker quite well, however, was defeated by Law in a single slash of the blade.

9 Smoker

Another Navy Vice-Admiral, Smoker is a member of the G-5 Unit of the Marines and also the strongest in their ranks. He went to the New World to follow the Straw Hat Pirates and capture them. Smoker is quite strong and is known to have the power of the Moku Moku no Mi, a Logia type of Devil Fruit.

He is also a user of two Haki types and at Punk Hazard, was powerful enough to put up a fight against Vergo and Law. Since then, he's likely gotten much stronger.

8 Sentomaru

Sentomaru is one of the latest additions to the Marines, however, he is quite a capable man. He was introduced before the time-skip as he led the Pacifistas to Sabaody Archipelago.

Sentomaru is known to be a great user of Armament Haki, especially the deflection aspect of this power. His usage of Ryou was quite high-level and has likely gotten even better over the course of the last two years.

7 X Drake

A former Rear Admiral of the Navy, X Drake is one of the most powerful Navy men. Currently, he's posing as a pirate and a member of Kaido's Beasts Pirates crew. Drake was a part of the Tobiroppo which just goes to show that he is quite capable.

When it comes to strength, Drake is incredibly powerful and someone who could take down a Number of Kaido in a single hit, thanks to the power of his Allosaurus Devil Fruit.

6 Greenbull

Greenbull is a Marine Admiral, which automatically makes him one of the strongest people in the series. He was introduced during the Reverie arc of One Piece and not much is known about him at the moment.

What fans do know is that he hasn't eaten anything in years and can somehow still survive. According to Doflamingo, he's a monster in combat.

5 Fujitora

Fujitora was chosen as an Admiral of the Marines along with Greenbull during the two-year time-skip. He made his debut in the story during the Dressrosa arc of the series. Although he is blind, Fujitora is an excellent fighter, thanks to his Haki.

What's more, he has the power of the Zushi Zushi no Mi which allows him to control gravity at will. He's truly an exceptionally strong fighter.

4 Kizaru

Admiral Kizaru was first introduced in the story during the Sabaody Archipelago arc. He's a light-man who has gained the powers of the Pika Pika no Mi. Kizaru can freely turn into light and shoot it from his body as lasers strong enough to hurt anyone.

He is also an exceptionally strong Haki user, as is expected of an Admiral. During the Paramount War, he fought against Marco and put up a decent fight.

3 Sakazuki

The current, Fleet Admiral of the Marines, Sakazuki was an Admiral before the time-skip and among the most fearsome Marines in the story. Being a former Admiral, he is exceptionally powerful and the Marineford arc gave the fans a glimpse of what he was capable of.

Since then, he's likely become stronger and under his rule, the Marines are openly challenging the Yonko, who rule over the New World.

2 Sengoku

Sengoku is the former Fleet Admiral of the Navy and currently, he is serving as the General Inspector of the organization. Although he isn't as active as he once was, Sengoku is strong as ever. He might be old but he looks as healthy as ever, meaning he is still a demon to the pirates.

Sengoku has all three Haki types up his sleeve and the power of the Mythical Zoan Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu. He fought bravely in the Marineford war and back during his days as an Admiral, he was strong enough to fight the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.

1 Garp

Also known as the Hero of the Marines, Garp is one of the strongest characters in the One Piece world even in his old age. Back in his prime, he was said to be a rival of the likes of Roger and Whitebeard, and all the pirates in the world feared him.

Although he doesn't have a Devil Fruit, Garp's Haki is at an exceptionally high level which has made him a monster in combat.
