As the Marvel Cinematic Universe grows older, fans are being introduced to more and more powerful female characters and even getting films with female superheroes as the leads. At this point in time, there are plenty of female characters with superhuman abilities, and it has already been confirmed that more are on the way.
After the finale of WandaVision, some people are taking a step back to reconsider who the strongest characters in the MCU are. Many of the female characters are actually very close in strength, and a surprising number of powerful females in the franchise are actually capable of using magic.
10 Valkyrie was able to stand her ground against the goddess of death, Hela
The Valkyries were an elite group of warriors known for being some of the fiercest combatants in Asgard. Valkyrie spent most of her extended life either training or fighting, becoming proficient in using all sorts of weapons.
She was the only survivor of the group that went to fight Hela, and although she didn't get the personal satisfaction of defeating Hela the second time they fought, she was able to stand her ground against the goddess of death.
9 Gamora survived encounters with both Ronan The Accuser & Ego the Living Planet
After surviving encounters with both Ronan The Accuser and Ego the Living Planet, Gamora should be considered one of the strongest. Being raised in a brutal environment by Thanos that forced her to become strong, she received enhancements that made her a better fighter.
She is proficient in using weapons and fighting in hand-to-hand combat, and her enhancements made her harder to kill, which made staying suspended in space for so long possible.
8 Agatha Harkness can use many of the spells that Wanda can
Agatha had years of experience and knowledge that Wanda didn't have, which made her a worthy adversary to Wanda. As long as she uses an incantation, she can use many of the spells that Wanda can, but not nearly on the same scale.
She can shoot magic blasts, change the appearance of objects, control people, and she even mentioned that necromancy wasn't an impossibility for her. To become stronger, Agatha absorbed the power of many witches.
7 Frigga had the superhuman abilities of an Asgardian
Frigga was raised by witches, which allowed her to cast and see through illusions, skills that she taught her son Loki. In addition to her talent in magic, she had the superhuman abilities of an Asgardian.
She proved herself to be powerful and talented with the sword, as for a short while, she was able to overpower the leader of the Dark Elves. Frigga's death came as a huge shock to Odin, which is a testament to how much he believed in her powers.
6 Goose doesn't seem to use her powers that often, preferring a relaxed, cat-like life
Goose is a Flerken, a creature that terrified the Skrulls that even the Kree acknowledged as a high-level threat. Goose's body houses a huge mass of powerful tentacles that can toss people around like rag dolls. Goose is very good at sensing who is a threat and who is not, even recognizing disguised Skrulls.
She also has a set of deadly claws, which left permanent scarring on Nick Fury's eye. Goose doesn't seem to use her powers that often, preferring a relaxed, cat-like life.
5 Ghost's powers & special suit allow her to slip through any object
Ghost went through a painful quantum mutation. This power, combined with a special suit that she wears, allows her to make her body either intangible or solid, which allows her to slip through any object.
Trained by S.H.I.E.L.D. to be an assassin, Ghost became very talented at hand-to-hand combat, and any blows her opponents try to land on her are ineffective against her body. Ghost is even able to turn invisible, which is great for gathering information and launching sneak attacks.
4 The Ancient One was the most powerful member & leader of the Masters Of The Mystic Arts
The Ancient One was the Sorcerer Supreme, meaning that she was the most powerful member and leader of the Masters Of The Mystic Arts.
Her life was dedicated to successfully protecting her universe from Multiverse threats and was a deterrent that kept many enemies from coming near Earth. With her magic, she had similar powers to Wanda, but on a smaller scale. She could create things, but this was by shaping her magic to make them resemble real-life things.
3 Hela was by far the strongest Asgardian other than Odin
She may not have lifted Thor's hammer, but she was able to stop it with one hand and crush it to show Thor and Loki the difference between her and them.
As long as Asgard existed, Hela was immortal, and the longer she remained there, the stronger she became. Not only did she have enhanced physical capabilities, but she was able to create things, such as armor and weapons, out of thin air. She was even able to resurrect the dead.
2 Captain Marvel has superhuman strength, durability, & speed, as well as the ability to fly
Carol Danvers got her powers from being exposed to the Tesseract. She has superhuman strength, durability, and speed, as well as the ability to fly. With her control over cosmic energy, she can fire energy blasts, melt through metal, and cloak herself with the energy in order to make herself stronger.
She was one of the very few capable of fighting Thanos as long as he didn't have any infinity stones, and she effortlessly demolished Kree ships out in space.
1 Wanda Maximoff has the power of spontaneous creation, reality manipulation, & even time manipulation
Wanda Maximoff has chaos magic enhanced by the Soul Stone that only the Scarlet Witch can wield. This means she has the power of spontaneous creation, reality manipulation, and even time manipulation.
Thanks to her experiences in Westview, Wanda has a better grasp of how her powers work and how to effectively use them. It seems nearly impossible to defeat someone who could easily manipulate others' minds and place them under her control.
