Casting is underway for The CW's reboot of 4400, whose name was recently changed from The 4400.
According to Deadline, Arrow vet Joseph David-Jones, who played Connor Hawke in Seasons 7 and 8 of Arrow and in two episodes of Legends of Tomorrow, and Khailah Johnson will play two of the 4,400 people who return to Earth after disappearing over the last hundred years without a trace. The returned have no memory of what happened to them, but they do discover that they have special abilities, making it difficult for the government to cover up the phenomenon.
David-Jones' character, Rev Johnson, was raised in a powerful Christian family and vanished in the 1990s. He is described as a man of "true faith and compassion" who enjoys the power and wealth his position offers him. Johnson will play Ladonna, a Miami party girl who disappeared on her 21st birthday. While she comes across as spoiled and dull at first, the audience soon discovers that she is capable of more than she ever imagined.
4400 is based on the USA Network series The 4400. The drama ran for four seasons and 44 episodes between 2004 and 2007 and starred Mahershala Ali. The CW reboot received a straight-to-series order in Feb.
Created and written by Ariana Jackson, 4400 will air on The CW during the 2021-2022 TV season. The series stars Joseph David-Jones and Khailah Johnson.
