Lucifer Star on Why He Prefers DC Movies Over Marvel | CBR

Lucifer actor D.B. Woodside tweeted that he prefers the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after finishing Zack Snyder's Justice League.

"I started @snydercut last night and finished earlier today," Woodside wrote on Twitter. "I have one comment and many questions. My comment: I loved every single minute of it. Every minute."

He added that he watched the new edit of Justice League "in chapters," as Snyder intended, adding, "For me, it's how the DC movies should be shot. Darker, grittier, more lyrical than Marvel."

When Woodside noticed that Justice League actor Ray Fisher, who portrayed Cyborg in the film, was online thanking people for watching the film, the Lucifer actor reached out. "Final comment: @ray8fisher. I’m moving quickly into directing," Woodside responded. "Lemme know what you wanna do. We need to work together."

Woodside's comments about Justice League came just days after Snyder detailed how his version of the DCEU would have differed from the MCU films.

"Marvel is doing something else. They're doing, at the highest level, this popular action-comedy with a heart," Snyder told The New York Times. "And they have that nailed. An effort to duplicate that is insanity because they're so good at it." He added, "What DC had was mythology at an epic level, and we were going to take them on this amazing journey. Frankly, I was the only one saying that."

We’ve come a long way..."
